Michael E. Haslouer 69 of Enterprise passed away at his home September 12, 2023. 

Mike was born July 15, in Abilene to Edward and Delores Haslouer. Mike grew to manhood in Enterprise. Mike had been a long time employee of Combustion Engineering in Enterprise which later became ABB. Mike had also worked at the City of Enterprise, Abilene Machine, Tabcon, and CTI. Mike was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and also had served on the Enterprise Fire Department and the early Chapman Rural Fire Department.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sons Waylon and Kyle Haslouer both of Enterprise. His grandchildren Trenton, Nolan, Hunter, and Addison Haslouer all of Enterprise and his brother Tom and wife Chris of rural Enterprise.

A memorial service will be held  at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2023 at the Londeen- Overlease Funeral Chapel 206 W. 5th Street, Chapman, Kansas with Pastor Jack Craig officiating.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Elaine Hope (Whitney) Manges, age 95, of Manhattan, died September 4, 2023 at Meadowlark Hills – Lyle House. She was born May 22, 1928, in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of George and Emma (Hall) Whitney.

Elaine graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Hutchinson Community College and Kansas State University.

She was married to Harry Leo Manges on September 5, 1948, in Hutchinson, KS. They were married just a few hours short of 75 years however Elaine and Harry were able to enjoy an anniversary celebration with family and friends on September 3.

Elaine was a homemaker and was very devoted to her family who appreciated her exceptional cooking talents. Family and friends enjoyed her cookies and specialty cakes at holidays and birthdays.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school, was active in United Methodist Women serving as president, and coordinated bereavement meals for many years. She was also active as a docent for the Riley County Historical Society. Her passion was art and she cherished her time as a member of the Manhattan Water Color Studio. Her paintings are treasured by many.

Survivors include her husband Harry; sons Rodney E. Manges (Shelley) of Manhattan, James W. Manges of Overland Park, KS, and David J. Manges, Sr. of Dayton, OH; grandchildren David J. Manges, Jr. (Valerie) of Virginia Beach, VA, Taylor H. Provine (Kirk) of Manhattan, and Timothy J. Manges (Kelly) of Manhattan; and three great-grandchildren.

Elaine was preceded in death by daughter Charlotte E. Manges and her two siblings Gene Whitney and Alice Petterson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday September 21, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church, 612 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, KS, with Reverend Donna Voteau officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.

Dr. Wayne Eugene Bailie, Manhattan, died September 7, 2023 at the Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community in Manhattan.

He was born in Bondurant, Polk County, Franklin Township, Iowa, the son of Walter Burton and Francine Margorie Bailie. He attended public schools in a variety of places throughout the United State, graduating from Shawnee Mission Rural High School, Merriam, KS in 1951. He attended Kansas State College/University in Manhattan, obtaining the degrees, Bach of Science, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1957 and PhD in Veterinary Comparative Pathology in 1969. Following graduation from Veterinary School, he practiced Veterinary Medicine in Reinbeck, Iowa, Winterset, Iowa and Edgar, Nebraska prior to returning to Kansas State University to pursue the PhD. During his academic career, he was on the faculty of Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, South Dakota State University, Brookings, South Dakota, Ross University, St. Kitts, West Indies and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria.

Dr. Bailie was a Veterinary Diagnostician and taught Veterinary Bacteriology and Mycology to Veterinary students at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University. During his career, he had been a member of the American, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota Veterinary Medical Associations and the American Society for Microbiology. In 1980 he became a Diplomat in the American College of Veterinary Microbiologists. He was the author and co-author of a variety of scientific publications in the field of Veterinary and Microbiology.

He was Married to Twila Jean Irvine on August 26, 1956 at the First Presbyterian Church, Delphos, Kansas. She preceded him in death in 2017.

Dr. Bailie loved to sing and was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where he was an active member of the choir. He was also a member of the Little Apple Barbershop Chorus where he sang Bass. He was a life member of the KSU Alumni Association and contributed generously to the Mike Ahearn Scholarship Fund through the KSU Foundation. He has held season tickets for KSU Football and Basketball programs since 1972.

Survivors include daughter, Claire E. Jones and her husband David Jones of Atlanta, GA; Son, Scott V. Bailie and his wife Grace Anne of Lenexa, KS and daughter, Melanie R. Bailie of Raleigh, NC; his beloved grandchildren, Justin Davis, Ryan Davis, Emily Bailie, Heather Freddoso, Michael Bailie, Caitlin Freddoso, Christopher Bailie, Anthony Freddoso and Thomas Freddoso and two brothers, Thomas Burton Bailie and his wife Jane of Bridgman, Michigan and John David Bailie and his wife Alberta of Houston, Texas. As well a number of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Service will be at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1110 College Avenue in Manhattan, at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday September 20, 2023.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Tina Suzan Meek, 66, of Manhattan, Kansas, passed away on September 5, 2023. She was born on July 31, 1957, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Louise Irene Grippy and Jack Neal Meek.

Tina grew up in Kansas City and attended Westport High. She moved to Manhattan in 1988 where she thrived as a mom of four. She loved the idea of living in a small town and giving her children the best education and opportunities available. Her kids were her greatest joy and she often volunteered and contributed to their classrooms. She advocated tirelessly for her son with special needs. She loved and cherished her grandchildren.

Tina was a long-term panel member at the K-State Sensory Analysis and Consumer Research Center. She also worked for consumer marketing agencies demonstrating and promoting products which was perfect for her as she was able to interact with many people in the community that knew and loved her. She worked until she was no longer able due to her health issues.

Tina is survived by her loving daughters, Ashley Meek (Roddy Hugunin) of San Diego, Amber Meek and Allison Meek, and her son, Andrew Meek, of Manhattan. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Lukas Hugunin, Stellar Hugunin, Rylee Vandermark, and Jaxson Meek. Tina is also survived by her sisters, Terrie Goos and Morgana Burke, along with extended family and many close friends.

Tina's warm and caring nature will be missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Tina's life will be held on September 15, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home. Following the funeral service, a graveside service will take place at Valley View Memorial Park. Reception to follow.

Dr. BeEtta Stoney, passed away September 5, 2023 in Manhattan.

Stoney served as K-State's faculty athletics representative for 13 years, 2010-2023, and worked closely with K-State Athletics and the Big 12 Conference on issues related to academic integrity, rules compliance and student-athlete welfare. She also was very active with the sport of women's basketball following her hall of fame career at UTEP as she served on the NCAA women's basketball rules committee during her time as the faculty athletics representative.

Stoney also served as the university's interim chief diversity and inclusion officer from May 2021-Oct. 2022, as well as an associate professor of curriculum and instruction in the College of Education, where she was a member of the graduate faculty and chair of the college's undergraduate academic reinstatement committee. She also coordinated the physical education and health program for the curriculum and instruction department. Stoney joined K-State in 1999 as a race equity coordinator and technical consultant with the College of Education's Midwest Equity Assistance Center. She was subsequently hired as an assistant professor of secondary education with the college in 2000 and was promoted to associate professor in 2005.

Before joining K-State, Stoney was a special education teacher and department chair at the middle school level.

Stoney earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education-special education/health education as well as a master's degree in kinesiology from the University of Texas, El Paso. She earned a doctorate in special education/multicultural education from the University of Texas, Austin. An accomplished basketball player, she was inducted into the UTEP Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010 and ranks third all-time in UTEP career points with 1,249.

The family will greet friends during a visitation on Saturday September 16, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan. Services will follow the visitation at 3:00p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Private burial will be held at a later date.

Nathan (Nate) Grindle, 47, died September 4th, 2023. Nate was born December 18th, 1975, in Fort Kent, ME, son of Roger and Anita Grindle. Nate is survived by his wife, Anna Zinovyeva, and his daughters, Eleanor and Harriet Grindle. Nate was predeceased by his father, Roger Grindle, in 1981; his brother, Richard Grindle, in 1985; and his mother, Anita Grindle, in 2010.

For the last seven years, Nate worked at the Department of Diagnostic Medicine and Pathobiology at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University. Prior to that, Nate worked at the UMass Chan Medical School. Nate loved his family, his dogs, and his friends, many of whom are known as “aunts” and “uncles” to his daughters. Nate truly enjoyed keeping up with his friends from all stages of life. A forever Mainer at heart; a family camp on Clearwater Lake was his special place. A runner and a skier in his younger years, Nate also enjoyed rooting for his favorite baseball, hockey, football, and soccer teams. Nate’s varied taste in music ranged from Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie (he listened to “Alice’s Restaurant” every Thanksgiving), to Tom Waits, and Phish (having attended several farewell Phish tours). Nate’s great sense of humor was well known among his family, friends, and co-workers, as was his penchant for science fiction and punny T-shirts. Nate, you will be missed. So long, and thanks for all the (ph)fish.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on September 16th at 2 p.m. at the Konza Prairie Biological Station (Konza Meeting Hall, 150 Konza Prairie Lane, Manhattan, KS) followed by a light reception and time to gather. Interment of the ashes will take place in Fort Kent, ME in Summer 2024, with date to be announced.

Elmer "Jack" L. Taylor, 94, from Wamego, peacefully transitioned on Sunday, August 27th, at Ascension Via Christi Health Hospital in Manhattan. He was surrounded by his loving wife and children, enjoying hisfavorite country songs and sharing stories. His family will cherish his remarkable legacy characterized by dedication, service, and enduring love.

Born on June 9, 1929, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Elmer Lee Taylor was the beloved son of Clarence Allen and Clara May (Popejoy) Taylor.

Elmer's journey led him through distinguished careers and across continents, touching the lives of many along the way. Elmer served in the US Army from 1947-1956 and reenlisted from 1963-1981. He served in Korea, Vietnam, Germany, Ft Hood, Texas and Ft Riley, Kansas. Retiring as a sergeant first class in October 1981. He served in both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He was recognized for his 25+ years of service to his country with numerous awards including three bronze stars.&nbsp;&nbsp;It was during his military service he met Hui Sun Yu, his wife of 54 years, who survives at the home.&nbsp;&nbsp;They married on May 23, 1969, in Seoul, South Korea, and lived in both Manhattan and Wamego,&nbsp;Kansas.

“Jack” as he was known by his loved ones and neighbors was a kind man who simply saw himself as a farm boy from Arkansas. Following his military career, he was employed in insurance sales at the National Insurance Company. Together with his wife, he dedicated 22 years to the Manhattan and Kansas State community, pioneering the first international grocery store, Manhattan International Foods.

Elmer's devotion extended to his family. He is survived by his children Kimberly Taylor of San Rafael, CA; Sandra (Sande) Taylor (Ted Pahl) Pahl of Burlington, NC; Mary Taylor-Blasi (Daryl Blasi) of Chicago, IL and James Taylor of Manhattan. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Theodore Pahl, Amelia Taylor-Blasi,Ethan Pahl, Logan Taylor-Blasi and numerous nephews and nieces and adopted students from the Kansas State community.

In his final retirement, he moved to Wamego to garden and walk five miles a day around the pond. He loved playing Wii with his children and grandchildren and was proud of his perfect unbeatable bowling score. He prioritized his family and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and teaching them the “secretsauce” to fishing. He will be missed for his wonderful storytelling and laughing at his own dad jokes.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Harold Taylor, Eva English, and Everett Taylor.

A Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7th at Carlson's Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home &amp; Cremation in Manhattan. Inurnment will be at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Manhattan, KS.

Elmer "Jack" L. Taylor

Myrna Rae Michaelis, 83, of McFarland, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at St. Marys Manor. &nbsp;She was a life-long member of the McFarland area.

Myrna was born on June 28, 1940, in McFarland, Kansas, the daughter of Harold and Mabel Marie (Czirr) TenEyck. &nbsp;She attended local grade school and graduated from Alma High School in 1958.

Myrna married Wilfred Joe “Swede” Michaelis on her birthday, June 28, 1958, in Wamego. &nbsp;After sixty-two years together, He preceded her in death on December 28, 2020.

Myrna was a homemaker and caregiver. &nbsp;She loved raising and caring for her family and on numerous occasions, would care for other friends and family members, especially at the end of their lives. Over the years she worked at various jobs including being a clerk at the Post Office, doing housekeeping at the Alma Manor, and working at the grocery store in McFarland. &nbsp;Myrna loved making ceramics. &nbsp;She would not only decorate but would pour and fire her pieces. &nbsp;She loved to crochet, knit, quilt and do various types of needle work. &nbsp;She also enjoyed many hours working jigsaw puzzles. &nbsp;Myrna was a braille transcriptionist and worked many years with the Lutheran Braille Workers transcribing religious material into braille. &nbsp;Myrna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and helped with Vacation Bible School.

Myrna is survived by her children, Johnny Michaelis (Matilda) of Maple Hill, Alan Michaelis (RaeLynn) of Belvue, Denise McDaniel (Terry) of Paxico, Brian Michaelis (Polly) of Alma and David Michaelis (Yvette) of Wichita; her twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren; her siblings, Jupe TenEyck (Peggy), of Alma, Larry TenEyck (Shirley), of Wamego, and Carol Jones, and Vicki Browning, both of Manhattan. &nbsp;Myrna was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Kirk Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, September 15, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in McFarland. &nbsp;Reverend Terry DeGiovanni will be officiating. &nbsp;Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. &nbsp;The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. &nbsp;They suggest memorial contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church or St. Marys Manor, and those may be sent in care of Campanella and Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego.&nbsp;

Myrna Rae Michaelis

Michael Ames Howard was born on April 4, 1948, in Arkansas City to William and Geralee Howard. &nbsp;He passed away peacefully on August 14, 2023, at the age of 75.

Mike led a full life. &nbsp;He excelled at athletics which led to 9 letters at Arkansas City High School, including football, basketball, and tennis. He received a full-ride scholarship playing tennis at Oklahoma State University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, played #1 in singles and doubles, and was runner-up in the Big Eight Doubles Championship.

Upon graduation, Mike studied at the University of Kansas School of Law. While in law school, he was hired as the men’s head tennis coach. &nbsp;He served in that role from 1971 to 1975, personally raising 6 full tennis scholarships for the team and recruiting/coaching the first-ever All-American player in the Big 8. He also served as the Assistant Athletic Director at KU from 1974-1975.

He met Brett Stewart in 1974 in Lawrence Kansas. &nbsp;They were married in January 1976.

After his work with the University of Kansas, Mike opened First Serve, a retail store specializing in ski and tennis equipment, apparel, athletic shoes, and screen printing. &nbsp;The store expanded into 9 locations across multiple states. That was just the beginning, throughout the years he became an expert salesman and leader.

Mike helped build the Kaepa Athletic Shoe account base from 3 to 636, earning him the US Salesman of the Year Award in 1989. He continued to build his incredible sales career with Javelin and Jurni, and K-Swiss, where he received the US Salesman of the Year Award and the company won Regional Sales Company of the Year in 1998.

Along with his passion for entrepreneurship, Mike was a jack of all trades, always staying busy! Throughout the years he developed land, built a beautiful ranch, and raised hundreds of Texas Longhorn cattle, many of which became World Champions. His biggest passions in life were his three children, and his seven grandchildren, hunting and fishing with his very best friends, and playing tennis.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children, Hendley Brook Stockebrand (children Maddox and Rowan), Michael Ames Howard II, and Piper Howard Deans (husband Jay and children Lawson, Harlan, Halsey, and Henley), his brother Robert William Howard II (Karen), sister Barclay Ross (Frank), and four wonderful nieces and nephews.

Mike has left a legacy of discipline, the importance of family, and hard work. &nbsp;His memory will serve as a constant inspiration to those who knew him. &nbsp;He will be missed every day.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Campanella &amp; Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, KS.

Judith Aileen King, age 72, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2023, at Ascension Via Christi Village in Manhattan, KS with family by her side.

Judy was born to Edwin and Frances (Johnson) Tschacher on September 4, 1950, in Lusk, WY. She grew up on a farm 4 miles west of Manville, WY. She attended grade school in Manville and graduated salutatorian of her class from Niobrara County High School in 1968. This was an honor she worked very hard for! After high school, Judy attended West Nebraska General Hospital School of Nursing to become a registered nurse then joined the Army and proudly served her country from December 1970 to October 1973.

On December 28, 1973, she was united in marriage to William A. King. Together they had 5 children. They divorced in 1992 but remained great friends, celebrating many holidays and special occasions together as a family with their children and later grandchildren.

After raising her family, Judy returned to nursing at St. Mary’s Hospital, now Ascension Via Christi, in Manhattan, KS until moving home to Wyoming in 2004 to help her mom and dad. She also worked part time as a hospice nurse. She was an Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop #223 in Manhattan and enjoyed teaching the boys important life skills. One year she even took them camping over the new year in Minnesota!

Judy was a lady of many talents. She was an avid gardener and a great cook. She was hard working, patient, and kind. She could pack a semi load into a little Toyota car leaving no space unused! She loved kids and always had a game tucked away to bring out and play or a new skill to teach. It would span from creating Christmas ornaments with thread to making ice cream by rolling a coffee can around. She gave freely of her time and belongings. She was soft spoken and sweet which is likely what made her such a good nurse. Nothing seemed to rile her or make her change course or speed. She was also determined, stubborn and competitive. She found a way to get things done! Her sense of humor was unfailing. She always found the positive in any situation. Above all, Judy was faithful. She had the quiet confidence and unmoving grace maintained through an unshakable faith.

Judy was preceded in death by her father Edwin Tschacher.

She is survived by her ex-husband William King (Nelda) of Manhattan, KS; five children: Amy Manges (David) of Manhattan, KS, William King Jr. (Nathalie) of Westfield, MA, Mary King of Manhattan, KS, Timothy King (Shawnelle) of Wahoo, NE and Daniel King of Manhattan, KS; six grandchildren: Jennifer Savage (Travis) of Salisbury, NC, Brittney King of Omaha, NE, Sierra Ried of Manhattan, KS, Anthony King of Manhattan, KS, Elizabeth King of Blue Rapids, KS, and Taylor King of Westfield, MA; nine great grandchildren: Justin, Aubrey, Kynsley, Kason and Carter all of Salisbury, NC, Caden of Wahoo, NE, Charlotte and Bear both of Omaha, NE, and Alarric of Manhattan, KS; her mother: Frances Tschacher of Manville, WY; Six siblings: Marcus Tschacher (Barb) of Osage, WY, Kathleen Heine (Royce) of Keeline, WY, Patrick Tschacher (Karen) of Dickinson, ND, Susan Croff (Ray) of Krugerville, TX, Michael Tschacher (Kathy) of Gill, CO, and Lee Tschacher of Manville, WY, along with many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn Jane Shortt, Manhattan, KS, gave her final laugh on September 2nd, 2023 at Bramlage House at Meadowlark Hills in Manhattan, KS. Marilyn would quote Dr. Norman Peale (Power of Positive Thinking) often and lived her life to the fullest. She would say “Laughter is the best medicine.” One of Marilyn’s favorite things to do was to make people laugh and bring sunshine to all.

Marilyn was born on September 29, 1936 in Westmoreland, KS. She was the fourth child of Francis N. and Eunice (Adams) Tibbetts. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Wamego, KS. Marilyn was a self-proclaimed tomboy. She loved playing all sports while growing up – especially football with her older brother Martin and his friends.

Marilyn graduated from Wamego High School. Marilyn married her high school sweetheart, Jim Shortt. They loved traveling together. They went to many American Counseling Conventions which allowed them to travel from the east coast to the west coast.

After they married, they lived in California, then back to Kansas in Larned, Belvue, Paola, and eventually Manhattan in 1974. They had two sons, Steve and Russell. Marilyn was a fantastic baker and her favorite thing to bake was a birthday cake for her children every year. She continued this tradition up until a few years ago when baking became more difficult.

Marilyn had several jobs throughout her life. When she was 12, she started working at Duckwalls in Wamego, KS. Later, she took time off from working to raise her family when Steve was born. Marilyn then worked as a dental assistant in the late 60’s while in Paola, KS. In Manhattan she worked during Registration and Fee Payment times at Ahern Field House in the late 70’s.

Marilyn was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1974. She never let that slow her down! She had a positive attitude and never complained. She was given a plaque in 1990 for the MS Achievement Award from the Eastern Kansas Chapter of the National MS Society.

Marilyn enjoyed her golden years with her friends and family. She belonged to a couple of bridge groups which she loved: The Hi-Wives group and the Giggle Bridge group. Her friends and family looked forward to any get together where Marilyn would bring her desserts. She was well known for her fresh strawberry pies and anything chocolate! Additionally, many friends and family called Marilyn their “Personal shopper” because she loved shopping and buying clothes for them – she could spot a bargain a mile away!

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in August of 2022: her parents; sisters Dorris Farrell and Shirley Stockman; brothers Martin Tibbetts and Richard Tibbetts. Survivors include her two sons, Steve of Manhattan, KS and Russell and his partner, Aimee DeSett of Leawood, KS; sister Pamela Tineo of Mandan, ND; sister-in-law Carol Tibbetts; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home on September 14, 2023 at 10:30 a.m.&nbsp; Burial will be held later that afternoon for the immediate family at Belvue Cemetery in Belvue, KS.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Contributions may be sent in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.

Ruth Rago, of Junction City, Kansas, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023, at Brookdale Senior Living in Junction City, Kansas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023 at St. Xavier Catholic Church with Fr. Kerry Ninemire officiating.&nbsp; A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary's Cemetery.

 Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to C.L. Hoover Opera House, St. Francis Xavier Catholic School or to the organization of the donor's choice.

Ruth was born in San Marco en Lamis, Italy, the daughter of Tony and Rachel (Villani) Rago. uth graduated from Junction City High School. She was associated with Rago Food Center for many years. Ruth enjoyed all aspects of horticulture especially growing flowers and vegetables. She was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church.

Ruth is survived by her sister Josephine Rago of Junction City, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Louis, Peter, Leonard and John; one sister, Lena Rago.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Christopher Jared Howard was born on December 7, 1980 in Frankfurt, Germany and passed away on August 20, 2023 in Olympia, Washington.

Chris was a free spirit who loved to travel and be outdoors with nature. He had a soft spot for animals and would always be willing to help when he could. He was very outgoing and never shy with his words. 

He is survived by his parents, Maren and Clifford Howard of Junction City, KS. His daughter, Jayleonna Thornton of Darrington WA. Also survived by his brother, Marcus Howard of Overland Park, KS, grandfather David Howard of Pike Road, Alabama and Eleanor Guice (aunt), Tiffany and Ellice Guice (cousins) Pike Road, Al. Doug Ray, 59, passed away on August 18, 2023. Doug was born March 30, 1964 in Dighton, KS to A. Elroy Ray and Betty (Moody) Kupfersmith.

He Graduated from Marysville High School in 1982. In the past he worked for Beattie Co-op, Union Pacific Railroad, Wertenberger Trucking and K-State Facilities.

Doug was best known for his quiet nature and his mischievous grin. Doug was a jack-of-all trades that enjoyed tinkering with mechanical and carpentry projects and everything in between. He was also an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and spend time outside with his dogs. Most of all Doug enjoyed spending time with his family especially his nieces and nephews whom “Uncle Doug” patiently taught many a life lesson. Doug’s selfless dedication to his family and his mischievous grin will be dearly missed.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Betty and Fred Kupfersmith and Jackie Ray; brother-in-law Ed Miller.

He is survived by his father, Elroy, St. Joe, MO; Sisters: Debbie Miller, Marysville, Dorothy (Jerome) Watson, Apple Valley, CA; Diana (Steve) Shropshire, Cartersville, GA and Dodie (Wayne) Ray of Wamego.

Nephews, Dusty, (Jessy); Chris (Dewy); David; Stewart (AnnaMarie). Nieces: Jennifer (Chris), Jessica (Anthony) and Jackie; and several Great Nieces and Nephews.

Doug will be inurned on November 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Holton Cemetery, with his parents, Betty and Fred.

William Lewis Tate was born on January 6, 1955, in Gary, Indiana, to Nathaniel Winston and Yvonne Long. William, who family and friends often called “Tate," graduated in 1974 from Roosevelt High to pursue a career as a budget analyst for the City of Gary. He enlisted into the United States Army in 1982, where he served his country for ten years.Tate was an avid learner and a keen entrepreneur. At the end of his military career, he moved to Junction City, KS and attended Kansas State University, where he earned multiple degrees, in each of the following: Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Management and Theology. In 1996, he opened his first business, “Laugh on Line," a computer service store. He eventually transitioned the business into Tate’s Enterprises, a tax and accounting business, which he maintained until his health declined. Tate was very social and a great storyteller. He never met a stranger. Tate enjoyed cooking, spending time with family, talking business, and traveling. He loved audiobooks and jazz music, especially Kenny G. If you asked him, he would declare himself as the champion of chess and the dominator in dominoes.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mollie Tate; siblings: Robert Long, Miranda Long, Orlanda Martin (Clotill), Austin Webster, Annette Winston, Joyce Winston, LaJuana Bryant (Wallace), Cheryl Harris, Valerie Tate, Jowanna Winston, and Pam Winston; children: Ametria Tate, William Tate Jr. (Patrice), Jenae Reid (Brandon), Alex Welch, Brantley Welch, Jessica Welch, and Jasmine Bichara (Hector); grandchildren: Jayden, Destiny, Jordan, Aeryanna, Jasianna, Joanna, Judah, Lyric, Kailyn, Karter, Joshua, and Baby Reid; great-grandson, Zayden Tate; and a vast host of loving family and friends. SSG (RET) Philip Richard Pauly, 76, of Junction City, Kansas died on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Cremation will take place. 

A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery with full military honors.

Philip was born April 6, 1947, in Dubuque, Iowa the son of C. N. and Ruth E. (Hoffman) Pauly.Philip served in the United States Army until his retirement. After his retirement, he worked as an umpire and coached little league baseball, played fantasy baseball, football and supported the Junction City Pacesetters. He also worked for Mick's Appliances and U.S.D. #475. He enjoyed fishing, all sports and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #45 in Junction City. He married Jean Marie Kaufmann on December 28, 1968 in Dubuque, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife Jean of the home in Junction City, Kansas; three daughters, Glenice Pauly, Katrina Sandeen and Stephanie Pauly all of Junction City, Kansas; ten grandchildren, Jason Pauly and his wife Samantha, Philip Neu, Jeffrey Neu, Christina Neu, Kimberly Johnson, Ashley Johnson, William Johnson, Cory Allen and Cody Allen; great-grandchildren, Wyatte Hogue, Maddylina Neu, Neiyana Neu, Luella Neu, Julius Neu and David Luke; one brother, Mike Pauly and one sister-in-law Deborah Pauly.He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Kelly Allen and two brothers, William and Lawrence Pauly and one sister-in-law Karen Pauly.&nbsp;&nbsp;

SSG (RET) Philip Richard Pauly

James “Jim” Kenneth Olson, age 74 of Leonardville, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023 at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

He was born on July 23, 1949 in Clay Center, the son of Kenneth Hayden and Elda Jean (Malmstrom) Olson.

On August 12, 1978, he married Evadne Chalmers Hilliard at the Leonardville United Methodist Church.

Jim was a computer programmer at Kansas State University.&nbsp; Earlier in his working years he owned and operated the Riley Countian newspaper.&nbsp; He then worked overnight at the K-State Collegian before working in computer programming.&nbsp; He was a member of the Leonardville United Methodist Church, Leonardville Lions Club, Leonardville Pride and Leonardville Senior Citizens, where he cooked and was treasurer for several years.&nbsp; He served his community being on Leonardville City Council (Treasurer), Leonardville Library Board (President), and U.S.D. 378 Riley County School Board.

He is survived by his wife, Evadne Olson of Leonardville; five children, Raylyn Ramsgard of Omaha, Nebraska, Mike Hilliard and wife Michelle of Sedgwick, Donna Bever and husband Jeff of Colwich, Don Hilliard and wife Kathi of Garnett and Robert Hilliard and wife Jamie of Rose Hill; one brother, John Olson and wife Judy of Parsons; one sister, Judy Foster of Sedan; sixteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Leonardville Community Church.

 </figure>James “Jim” Kenneth Olson, age 74 of Leonardville, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023 at the University of Kansas Medical Center.He was born on July 23, 1949 in Clay Center, the son of Kenneth Hayden and Elda Jean (Malmstrom) Olson.On August 12, 1978, he married Evadne Chalmers Hilliard at the Leonardville United Methodist Church.Jim was a computer programmer at Kansas State University.&nbsp; Earlier in his working years he owned and operated the Riley Countian newspaper.&nbsp; He then worked overnight at the K-State Collegian before working in computer programming.&nbsp; He was a member of the Leonardville United Methodist Church, Leonardville Lions Club, Leonardville Pride and Leonardville Senior Citizens, where he cooked and was treasurer for several years.&nbsp; He served his community being on Leonardville City Council (Treasurer), Leonardville Library Board (President), and U.S.D. 378 Riley County School Board.He is survived by his wife, Evadne Olson of Leonardville; five children, Raylyn Ramsgard of Omaha, Nebraska, Mike Hilliard and wife Michelle of Sedgwick, Donna Bever and husband Jeff of Colwich, Don Hilliard and wife Kathi of Garnett and Robert Hilliard and wife Jamie of Rose Hill; one brother, John Olson and wife Judy of Parsons; one sister, Judy Foster of Sedan; sixteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents.Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Leonardville Community Church.Memorials may be made to the Leonardville Community Church.&nbsp; Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.<a href="http://www.apfunerals.com/"></a>

Lucinia L. “Lucy” Krieger, 79, died August 31, 2023, at Bramlage House, Meadowlark Hills, Manhattan, Kansas. She was born January 24, 1944, in Vancouver, Washington, the daughter of Howard and Ruth (Brady) Burtnett. She attended elementary school in Chase, Kansas, and then the family moved to Hays. She attended junior high and high school in Hays where she was active in marching band, orchestra, and jazz band. It was also in high school where she started sewing and continued through adulthood enjoying quilting, sewing, and crafts.

On September 2, 1961, she married Deryl Marsell, in Hays, Kansas, to this marriage three children were born Rhonda, Darren, and Douglas. They later divorced. She then married Carl W. Krieger on November 9, 1970, in Hoisington, Kansas and they were blessed with a son, Daniel. Carl preceded her in death on June 25, 2006.

Lucy worked as a CNA in two different nursing homes in Hoisington and eventually transferred into housekeeping at the Great Bend Manor. She also worked at Wendy’s in Great Bend and later worked for a short time at Walmart in Manhattan.

Survivors include: four children, Rhonda Carryer and husband Robert of Ogden, Darren Marsell and wife Kris of Lorraine, Douglas Marsell and wife Karen of Russell, and Daniel Krieger of Ottumwa, Iowa; sister Judy Kile and husband Don of Morris, Illinois; 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Burtnett, mother, Ruth Mason, and stepfather, Shorty Mason, stepfather, Willard Yarger and stepmother, Clara Yarger, and husband Carl Krieger.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday with family to greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 8th, 2023, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, celebrated by Father Warren Stecklein. Inurnment will be in Hoisington Cemetery at a later date.

Gail A. Roepke, age 90, of Waterville, passed away at Country Living in Marysville, on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.

Gail was born on January 4, 1933, in his parents’ living room on the family farm south of Cottage Hill.&nbsp; He attended Cottage Hill Country School and graduated from Waterville High School with the class of 1950.&nbsp; He married his childhood sweetheart Beverly “Bevy” Roeth on August 22, 1954.

Gail worked as a farmer and stockman on their farm south of Cottage Hill.&nbsp; When he and Bevy were first married, he joined the US Army serving at Fort Riley.&nbsp; For two years he would leave early in the morning for duty at Fort Riley, then come home to farm in the evenings and weekends.&nbsp; Gail and his father owned Roepke Hog Farms, selling breeding stock to other farmers throughout the Midwest, and managing the oldest continuously registered Duroc herd in Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp; In addition to farming, Gail served on various Boards of Directors over the years for organizations including the Citizen’s State Bank, the Marysville Country Club, the Kansas Pork Producers, and the Kansas Soil Conservation District. He also volunteered to help Bevy with her work with the Girl Scouts and Summer Theater and the Waterville Preservation Society.

Gail was a member of the Waterville United Methodist Church, Springer Post 332 of the American Legion, the Lions Club, and Sutton Lodge #85 of the AF&amp;AM also in Waterville.&nbsp; He was a member of the Arab Shrine unit based in Topeka.&nbsp;

Over the years Gail and Bevy enjoyed many trips and fun times.&nbsp; He once drove a bus full of Girl Scouts to a camping trip in Estes Park.&nbsp; He and Bevy went on rafting trips to the Grand Canyon and the Green River and went skiing in Colorado every Winter.&nbsp; Gail also loved to golf, and to go water skiing at Tuttle Creek.&nbsp; In their later years Gail and Bevy enjoyed trips to England, Italy, and cruises in Europe and the Caribbean.

Gail was the host of many parties and celebrations over the years. For over 50 years running, he met with friends to celebrate Labor Day with a Champagne Breakfast, which some years would run into a full day event featuring a whole-hog barbeque.&nbsp; Some people said he would use any excuse to throw a party, and he solidified that reputation by once throwing a surprise party for Bevy when she earned her pin for donating 10 gallons of blood to the Bloodmobile. Most recently, in May of this year Gail and Bevy shared their joint ‘180th&nbsp;Birthday’ party in Waterville, surrounded by family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Bevy, his daughter Kim Roepke of Colorado Springs, Colorado, four grandchildren: Arthur (Heather Dougherty) Donovan, Philip (Jenna) Donovan, Clare (Brian) Donovan-Scane and Emmett (Jaime) Donovan, all of Chicago, Illinois.&nbsp;

Preceding Gail in death were his parents, a brother Melvin Roepke and a sister Margaret Siebert.

Viewing is from noon to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2023 with visitation 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Christie-Anderes Funeral Home in Waterville.

Linda L. Jones passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in rural Abilene on August 31, 2023. Linda was the daughter of Maurice and Kathleen McCurdy, born in Gardiner, Maine November 23, 1943.After high school Linda married Jack Lee Jones in San Diego, California. The couple would soon settle in rural Abilene and establish Jones Greyhound farm where they bred and raised champion racing greyhounds for decades. Linda was a kind and loving soul who loved the beauty of nature and enjoyed traveling. The greyhound industry took her across the entire United States where she made many lifelong friends both human and canine. Linda’s success in the industry landed her in the Greyhound Hall of Fame.

Linda is survived by her children; daughter Catherine Yockers of Solomon, KS, sons David Jones of Rural Abilene, and Jack Jones of Chicago, and her sister Andrea Collette of Topeka, KS. She is also survived by five grandchildren (Dalton, Brittnee, Mallory, Mandy, Samuel) and three great-grandchildren (Madilyn, Rylee, Phoenix) as well as her longtime companion Jon Bingesser of Beloit.Linda was preceded in death by her husband Jack Lee Jones, her parents Mac and Kathleen McCurdy, and her brothers Mike McCurdy and David McCurdy.

Linda L Jones - November 23rd, 1943 - August 31st, 2023

Paul J. Martin, born June 30, 1925, in Galena, Kansas, the son of Walter Jack and Josephine Shryock Martin died on August 30, 2023. Paul attended the Galena schools, graduating from Galena High School with the class of 1943. Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and served as a Naval Corpsman in the South Pacific Theater of Operations. There he was engaged in five combats, including one ship, the USS Cavelier, torpedoed off the island Luzon. Following his discharge from the Navy in 1946, he entered the University of Mortuary Science in Kansas City, Kansas.He was united in marriage with Lily M. Armstrong on November 23, 1947, in Galena, Kansas, and to this union a son, Stan, and a daughter, Paula, were born. Paul and Lil moved to Abilene in 1948 where he became associated with the Rasher Funeral Home as an embalmer. Following the death of Mr. Rasher in 1958, Paul and his wife purchased the funeral home, renaming it the Martin Funeral Home and together they operated it until their retirement on March 1, 1988. It was their great honor to conduct the local services and burial of President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1969

.Paul was a member of the First Baptist Church in Abilene serving in various church officers and taught the Adult Sunday School Class for over 15 years. Active in community affairs, he was Past President of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce, Past President of Abilene Public Library, Past President of Abilene Country Club, a member and Past Master of the Beneficial Lodge #98, AF&amp;AM, Past President of Central Kansas Free Fair, Board Member of the Scottish Rite and Isis Shrine, Board Member of the Brown Memorial Foundation, and Member and Past President of the Abilene Noon Lions Club, of which he was a member for over 65 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Paula Martin, and her husband, Kurt Falkenstien, of Lawrence, Kansas; daughter-in-law Victoria Martin of Lawrence, Kansas; grandsons, Jackson Martin (Sarah) of Seattle, Washington, and Tyler Martin (Jill) of Longmont Colorado; granddaughters, Jessica Lindfors (Jordan) of Tallmadge, Ohio and Kate Martin Falkenstien (Rich Boltizar) of Boise Idaho; as well as seven great grandchildren, Colton and Katie Lindfors, Scott, Ronan and Imogen Martin and Theo and Maeve Boltizar; nieces, nephews and other relatives.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his son, brothers Maurice and Gerald and sisters Nancy and Joan.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Abilene on September 12, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jack Gilstrap officiating. Burial will be in the Abilene Cemetery with military graveside services.

Paul J. Martin

Bill R. Fuller passed away peacefully after a short illness on September 2, 2023, at the Good Shepard Hospice House in Manhattan, Kansas. He was born on the family farm in rural Ottawa Co. on April 9, 1938, during a late spring blizzard to William Vincent Fuller and Winifred Aileen (Adee) Fuller.

He attended grade schools at Sunnyside School, District 45 and Storm Center, District 40 in rural Ottawa County. Bill attended Miltonvale Rural High School and graduated in 1956. He was the Chapter President of FFA, participated in band and choir, a member of the National Honor Society, and a member of the mile relay team that set a new record at the K-State Indoor meet. He also was a football letter winner, in the times of wearing an old leather helmet.

Bill and brother Max had many adventures with jumping their bikes over ramps and experimenting with modifications to add pontoons for water and sails for the wind. After a few successes and a few shipwrecks, many of their inventions ended up in the scrap iron pile where they started. The brothers were also active Rockhill 4-H Club members raising Duroc breeding gilts, Angus heifers, Hampshire market lambs and completing Home Beautification and Room Improvement projects.

Wheat harvest was an important part of Bill’s early family life. During his childhood years, his family was selected to be part of the harvest Brigade during WW II, agreeing to follow harvest across the country with Massey-Harris Model 21 new-technology harvesting machines – the combine. Later, on a custom cutting trip across the Midwest, Bill and Max were young teens as they headed back to Kansas for school with their mother. Max (13) was pulled over by a trooper driving the truck as Bill (15) relieved his mother in the car. Max got stopped, Bill got the ticket, and Mom paid the fine.

Bill attended and graduated from Kansas State University. He approached college as an 8 to 5 job and worked hard and excelled. He received awards and was recognized in an economics contest, and the K-State Crops Judging Team, placing at the national level. Bill also worked in the horticultural greenhouse and at the research farm. His big project involved using 100 different watermelon varieties to create the Crimson Sweet variety. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He graduated in June of 1960 with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Cum Laude.

He moved with his young family to Miltonvale where he was involved with the family farm. He was also instrumental in building award winning Vocational Agriculture and FFA programs as a teacher at his alma mater from 1960-68. He and his students were recognized many times for their judging skills and building various farm equipment pieces from scratch at the state and national level. He believed in teaching his students to complete their projects with pride and learning to do high-quality work. Bill was awarded the Honorary State Farmer Degree after retiring from his teaching career.

Bill was an active member of the Miltonvale Lions Club for 21 years. One project that he volunteered to chair a committee to organize and operate a rural fire department. In June of 1965 the Cloud County Commission voted to establish Rural Fire District No. 7. Bill’s Vo-Ag department at MRHS did much of the repair, design, and construction of firefighting equipment. He was also involved in the Farmers Union Cooperative, Miltonvale Young Farmers, Cloud Co. Extension Council, Cloud Co. Fair Assn.

 </figure>Bill R. Fuller passed away peacefully after a short illness on September 2, 2023, at the Good Shepard Hospice House in Manhattan, Kansas. He was born on the family farm in rural Ottawa Co. on April 9, 1938, during a late spring blizzard to William Vincent Fuller and Winifred Aileen (Adee) Fuller.He attended grade schools at Sunnyside School, District 45 and Storm Center, District 40 in rural Ottawa County. Bill attended Miltonvale Rural High School and graduated in 1956. He was the Chapter President of FFA, participated in band and choir, a member of the National Honor Society, and a member of the mile relay team that set a new record at the K-State Indoor meet. He also was a football letter winner, in the times of wearing an old leather helmet.Bill and brother Max had many adventures with jumping their bikes over ramps and experimenting with modifications to add pontoons for water and sails for the wind. After a few successes and a few shipwrecks, many of their inventions ended up in the scrap iron pile where they started. The brothers were also active Rockhill 4-H Club members raising Duroc breeding gilts, Angus heifers, Hampshire market lambs and completing Home Beautification and Room Improvement projects.Wheat harvest was an important part of Bill’s early family life. During his childhood years, his family was selected to be part of the harvest Brigade during WW II, agreeing to follow harvest across the country with Massey-Harris Model 21 new-technology harvesting machines – the combine. Later, on a custom cutting trip across the Midwest, Bill and Max were young teens as they headed back to Kansas for school with their mother. Max (13) was pulled over by a trooper driving the truck as Bill (15) relieved his mother in the car. Max got stopped, Bill got the ticket, and Mom paid the fine.Bill attended and graduated from Kansas State University. He approached college as an 8 to 5 job and worked hard and excelled. He received awards and was recognized in an economics contest, and the K-State Crops Judging Team, placing at the national level. Bill also worked in the horticultural greenhouse and at the research farm. His big project involved using 100 different watermelon varieties to create the Crimson Sweet variety. He enjoyed working with his mentor Senator Ross Doyen and serving on committees including Agriculture &amp; Livestock, Assessment &amp; Taxation, Transportation, Insurance, and Rules &amp; Regulations. He also selected as the Chairman Agriculture &amp; Livestock committee in his last term. He served the constituents of District 108 for three 2-year terms.After leaving the Legislature he took a position as Asst. Director of the Public Affairs Division of Kansas Farm Bureau. Serving from 1984 to 2001, his responsibilities included researching issues important to farmers and ranchers. He would also lobby Legislators to support bills that would implement the policies and programs.He resigned his position at Farm Bureau to accept an appointment by President George W. Bush as Executive Director of the USDA Kansas Farm Service Agency. He supervised more than 500 employees, managed a $41 million budget, administered 30 programs for conservation, farm loans, disaster relief, and benefits to Kansas farmers and ranchers. In 2007 he was selected to receive the Administrator’s Honor Award. He served from March 12, 2001, and retired on January 29, 2009, in this position.Prior to and during his retirement years he had many hobbies which he approached with great passion. He spent many hours driving to and attending dance recitals, graduations, sporting, medical school pinning ceremonies, KSU football games and many other events of his nine grandkids and seventeen great-grandchildren.His keen interest in old vehicles increased when he became the second owner of a 1920 Ford Model T 1-ton truck in high school. He restored that truck and drove it in many parades as he campaigned for the Legislature. He was an avid collector of tractors and farm equipment, diecast race cars, oil company banks and Miltonvale Pottery. He enjoyed attending the Belleville High Banks and NASCAR races across the country.Bill and Janice married November 10, 1987, and enjoyed camping, cruising, and traveling across the country. They spent the winters in Sun City, AZ for five years, where Bill became a master at painting ceramics.He spent several years writing a book containing 22 stories of his favorite adventures of his life, with tremendous help from Janice. He loved researching his family history and putting these memories in his book, “Short Stories….adventures of a boy growing up on a KANSAS farm!”His surviving family members include his wife Janice and best dog friend Charlie of the home in Manhattan; brother Max and wife Nancy of Maple Hill; brother-in-law Richard Wilkey; three children: Bradley Fuller and wife Pam of Barnsdall, OK, Beverly Mortimer and husband Scott of Delphos, KS, and Betty Bachamp and husband Mark of Manhattan, KS; nine grandchildren: Toby Lohman-Fuller (Jessica), Brady Fuller (Courtney), Montana Fuller, Jeff Mortimer (Elizabeth), Ryan Mortimer (Paige), David Mortimer (Megan), Krista DeWitt (Tyler), Cole Bachamp (Bailey), and Kyle Bachamp; and 17 great grandchildren: Kinzie, Taybree &amp; Joliegh Lohman-Fuller; Dekker, Bekket &amp; Evvi Fuller; Drew, Tyler, Sophia &amp; Beau Mortimer; Karsyn &amp; Blake Mortimer; Lainey Mortimer; Paxton &amp; Reagan DeWitt; Dylan &amp; Brooks BachampHe was preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Aileen; his sister Barbara Ann Wilkey; Janice’s parents Jacob &amp; Sadie Feil; and brother-in-law Dean Feil.A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m.,&nbsp; Friday, September 8th, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Keith Wiens officiating. Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, at the Miltonvale City Cemetery, Miltonvale, KS.The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.,&nbsp; Thursday, September 7th, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home.Memorial contributions may be made to the Miltonvale Rural Fire District #3.
