Raising funds for suicide prevention/awareness and to assist the Junction City Police Department with development and implementation of a Co-Responder program is my topic on Coffee Talk this week. Joining me for the program are Tracy Geisler, executive director of the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation, JCPD Captain Cory Odell and Brynne Haverkamp, Crisis Service Director for Pawnee Mental Health. This all ties together because the funds raised at the December 9th GCHF ”Puttin’ on the Glitz Masquerade Ball” will be used to help support Co-Responder. The program joins a licensed mental health professional with Junction City police officers in responding to calls when mental health intervention is needed. My guests explain how this partnership would be established between Pawnee and the JCPD and the mission of the Geary Community Health Foundation to support the effort.
