1st Infantry Division Headquarters and Division Artillery troops that deployed to Poland in support of Operation Resolve will begin returning to Fort Riley next week. The information was provided by Steve Elmstrom, Director of Public Affairs. He said that the redeployments to the Post begin Monday and will continue for about a month in three or four groups. There will be welcome home ceremonies.

Elmstrom estimated the total number of returning number of troops in the 400 to 600 range.

GEARY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged abduction and now asking the public for help to find three children.

According to Junction City Police, on December 21, Jeana Foley abducted her children identified as 6-year-old Rosie Peterson, 5-year-old Camden Peterson and 3-year-old Genevieve Peterson

On Jan. 5, a felony warrant was issued for Foley's arrest. On Wednesday, Junction City police asked the public to call 911 if you have any&nbsp; information to help bring these kids home.&nbsp;Police released no additional details in the case.

Path 2 Better: PowerHits gathering items for Be Able Community

K-State Alumni Association President and CEO Amy Button Renz will retire from the K-State Alumni Association after more than 45 years of service to Kansas State University.

Her last day will be at end of the association’s fiscal year on June 30.

Renz began her career with the alumni association in 1977. She was named president and CEO in 1994, becoming the first female alumni director in the Big Eight (later the Big 12) conference.&nbsp;

Renz was instrumental in the creation of many programming efforts including the Student Alumni Board and the K-State Student Ambassadors. She served as the lead fundraiser for the Alumni Center building campaign. The $12.7 million facility was dedicated in October 2002. Additionally, she chaired search committees that brought several administrators to K-State — two athletic directors, John Currie and Gene Taylor, respectively, and Thomas Lane, vice president for student life and dean of students.

Under her leadership, the association has raised more than $6 million for student scholarships and recognition through the K-State License Plate program. Since 1996, the program has expanded to include four states. Additionally, the alumni association has raised more than $3.7 million for student scholarships through Wabash CannonBall galas in Kansas City, North Texas, Houston and Colorado.

She has served as a member of the CASE International Board of Trustees twice. In 1995, she received the District VI Distinguished Service Award from CASE. Additionally, Renz served as president of her peer organization the Council of Alumni Association Executives from 2001-2002.

Over the course of her career Renz has been recognized for her service and leadership many times. Some of her accolades include: In 2009 she received the Staley School of Leadership Mike Holen Outstanding Leadership Award. The K-State Marching Band selected her for the Directors Award in 2012. That same year, she was honored by K-State with the inaugural Amethyst Award, the highest honor bestowed by the university in recognition of extraordinary contributions. In 2014 she was named the Blue Key Oustanding Faculty Advisor. In 2016 she received the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Brandon L. Clark Alpha X-Cellence Award. In 2020, Renz was recognized with the Lyle Butler Distinguished Leadership Award from the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.

Renz is a third-generation K-Stater. She earned two degrees from K-State, a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1976 and master’s degree in public administration in 1986. Her husband, Allen Renz is also a graduate of K-State, as are their three children. They have three grandsons and four granddaughters — including one K-State graduate and one current K-State student.

“I have given my decision considerable thought and while it is a bittersweet decision, as I truly love my job, I feel the time is right,” Renz said. “I want to spend more time with Allen and our family. Our grandchildren already have lots of plans to spend more time with us and we can’t wait! I have been blessed with a wonderful career at the K-State Alumni Association and have enjoyed my time here.”

K-State’s leadership offered the following congratulations to Renz for her upcoming retirement:

“Amy defines what it is to be a K-Stater. She has been an incredible champion for inspiring and cultivating lifelong connections between our alumni and our university, and her leadership and vision transformed our Alumni Association into what it is today, always holding the university’s traditions and values at its core. We couldn’t be more grateful for all she has accomplished in service of the spot she loves full well,” said K-State President Richard Linton.

“There is no one more passionate about K-State than Amy! She has been an excellent leader for the Alumni Association for many years. Her passion for creating a link for life for all K-Staters — prospective and current students, alumni and fans everywhere — has impacted thousands of people. Additionally, she has been a leader in alumni relations nationwide. Her expertise and counsel has benefited many other universities and associations. We congratulate her on all that has been accomplished over her 45 years with the Alumni Association,” said Candace Hart Duncan ’75, chair of the K-State Alumni Association board of directors.

“Amy epitomizes K-State and has made a lasting impact on our entire university community. The partnership we have with the Alumni Association has been nothing short of phenomenal and that is because of her leadership and love for her alma mater. Personally, I will forever be indebted to Amy as she served as the chair of the search committee that brought my family to K-State, which has enriched our lives in ways unimaginable. NEW YORK (AP) —Bed Bath &amp; Beyond’s fiscal third-quarter sales fell by a third as the home goods company struggles to strike the right balance with its shoppers, a sign of its worsening outlook.

The company, which has already been cutting costs, said Tuesday it will slash an additional $80 million to $100 million across the company, including an unspecified number of layoffs. The retailer also added locations to the list of stores that will close. The store at 425 3rd Place in Manhattan and 3106 Iowa Street in Lawrence are on this list. The company, has 6 other stores in Kansas and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/locations/state/MO">12 in Missouri</a>.

Last week, Bed Bath &amp; Beyond cautioned that it&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/business-bankruptcy-875189eb9c27eac251670f80357c8ca3">may need to file for bankruptcy</a>&nbsp;protection as it struggles to attract shoppers. It then said that it’s considering options including selling assets or restructuring its business in bankruptcy court. But the chain acknowledged that even those efforts may not be successful.

Sales slid 33% to $1.26 billion for the three months ended Nov. 26 from $1.88 billion a year earlier. Sales at stores open at least a year, a key gauge of a retailer’s health, dropped 32%.

Analysts polled by Zacks Investment Research expected higher revenue of $1.43 billion.

The company is also burning through cash. It reported roughly $153 million in cash and cash equivalents in the latest quarter, a steep drop from $509 million in the year-ago period.

While the quarterly performance was not a surprise given Bed Bath &amp; Beyond’s update on its results last week, Neil Saunders, managing director of GlobalData, said in statement that it’s still a bit of a shock and only adds to concerns about Bed Bath &amp; Beyond’s survival.

“A third of revenue has vanished, plunging an already beleaguered company into the depths of chaos,” he said.

President and CEO Sue Gove said in a prepared statement on Tuesday that the company is working on adjusting its merchandise and strategy, which has moved away from shoppers’ preferences.

“We want our customers to know that we hear them and are charging ahead every day to meet their needs,” she said.

The retailer lost $393 million, or $4.33 per share, in the quarter. That compares with a loss of $276.4 million, or $2.78 a year earlier.

Stripping out certain items, its adjusted loss was $3.65 per share. Wall Street was calling for a loss of $2.36 per share.

Bed Bath &amp; Beyond announced in August that it would&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/stock-offerings-chewy-inc-6af2d83aec7cde2cd7b0706b892a4c0c">close stores and lay off workers</a>&nbsp;in a bid to turn around its business. It announced it would close about 150 of its namesakes stores and slashed its workforce by 20%. The company said Tuesday that it was on track to close the stores.

Saunders is not optimistic about the future of the retailer.

“In our view, Bed Bath &amp; Beyond has completely lost control and is in a tailspin; and with the ground fast approaching, survival now looks unlikely,” he said.

Shares of the Union, New Jersey-based company jumped 24% to $2.02 in afternoon trading.

Bed Bath & Beyond eyes more layoffs, will close store in Manhattan

RILEY COUNTY—Police arrested a Riley County woman after a 2-vehicle crash that occurred just after 8a.m. Monday in Manhattan.

According to the Riley County Police Department activity report a 2023 Kia Forte driven by Kezia Shibler, 26, of Riley, was southbound on Seth Child Road at Kimball Avenue.&nbsp;

A 2011 Toyota Prius driven by Alorrah Wileman, 19, of Manhattan pulled onto Seth Child Road from Gary Avenue in front of the Kia narrowly avoiding a crash. 

Shibler then sped up, passed the Prius, switched lanes to get in front of the Toyota then hit her brakes. This caused caused the Prius to rear-end the Kia. 

Following an investigation, police arrested Shibler on a requested charge of aggravated battery. She was issued a total bond of $5,000, and is no longer in custody. There were no major injuries reported, according to the RCPD.

A correction has been made to note: Kezia Shibler was arrested in this incident.RILEY COUNTY—Police arrested a Riley County woman after a 2-vehicle crash that occurred just after 8a.m. Monday in Manhattan.According to the Riley County Police Department activity report a 2023 Kia Forte driven by Kezia Shibler, 26, of Riley, was southbound on Seth Child Road at Kimball Avenue.&nbsp;A 2011 Toyota Prius driven by Alorrah Wileman, 19, of Manhattan pulled onto Seth Child Road from Gary Avenue in front of the Kia narrowly avoiding a crash. Shibler then sped up, passed the Prius, switched lanes to get in front of the Toyota then hit her brakes. This caused caused the Prius to rear-end the Kia. Following an investigation, police arrested Shibler on a requested charge of aggravated battery. She was issued a total bond of $5,000, and is no longer in custody. There were no major injuries reported, according to the RCPD.

GEARY COUNTY —Two people died in an accident just before 7p.m. Monday in Geary County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Chevy Cruze driven by Kelly E. Clements, 32, Fort Riley, was eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 just outside of Marshall Army Airfield and struck a 2017 Hyundai Elantra driven by Gary T. May, 76, Milford, head-on.

Clements was pronounced dead at the scene and she was transported to Johnson's Funeral Home. EMS transported May and a passenger in the Hyundai Donna E. May, 72, Milford, to the Stormont Flint Hills where she died. Clements was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.

All westbound traffic on Interstate 70 near Fort Riley in Geary county were shut down for several hours due to the to the crash.

2 Kansas women dead after wrong-way crash on I-70

WASHINGTON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating after seven deer were left to lay dead in a field in Washington County.

On January 4, a landowner reported at least five whitetail deer that had been shot with a small caliber rifle and left to lay in crop fields near Hanover Avenue and Yankee Road in Washington County, according to a social media report from Kansas Wildlife and Parks Game Wardens.

During their investigation, Game Wardens located two additional deer that had been shot and left lay. 

The deer were killed just outside the town of Hanover, with one of the deer less than 250 yards from two separate residences.

 It is believed the deer were killed the evening of January 2 or 3.

 Game Warden: 7 deer left to lay dead in Kansas fields

RILEY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a fatal shooting in Manhattan have made another arrest.

Just after 3a.m. Saturday, Junction City police arrested 24-year-old Jordan Prather of Junction City on a Riley County District Court warrant for first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault. 

These charges were brought by the Riley County Attorney's Office for Prather's involvement in the homicide of Joshua Wardi on February 5, 2022.&nbsp;

At that time, RCPD officers working in the police substation in Aggieville heard gunshots. The officers immediately responded in the direction of the gunfire that occurred outside a bar near 12th and Moro Street, according to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.&nbsp; Officers found a 21-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. They also observed an armed man nearby who ran from the area. Two officers chased the suspect on foot, while the third officer remained with the shooting victim and rendered first-aid.

The victim was later identified as Joshua J. Wardi, 21, of Fort Riley. Preliminary information indicated that as the armed suspect fled, he turned the corner onto 12th Street. During the foot chase, one of the RCPD officers fired two rounds at the suspect, striking him in the leg, and causing him to stop part way down the block, between Moro Street and Laramie Street.

Officers secured the handgun and provided medical assistance. No law enforcement officers were injured during the incident.

The shooting suspect was identified as Tremelle R. Montgomery, 19, of Fort Riley. EMS transported him to Ascension Via Christi hospital in Manhattan where he was then transferred to a Topeka hospital. Wardi was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation suggests that earlier Friday night Wardi and Montgomery patronized the same bar in Aggieville. Later, while visiting outside in separate groups of friends, they engaged in a verbal altercation. At that time witnesses say Montgomery pulled out a gun and shot Wardi. Montgomery remains jailed in Riley County, according to online jail records.

By JACKIE MUNDT Pratt County farmer and rancher Greetings from Puerto Rico! I am writing from San Juan where the American Farm Bureau Federation convention is taking place. Even though this is my first trip to Puerto Rico, I am a pretty regular world traveler with a well-established comfort zone and love for the adventures of new places. This trip has been extra fun for me because I am sharing it with three girls from the local collegiate Farm Bureau chapter at Pratt Community College. National events like this are great for professional development. The weekend has been jam-packed with big-name keynote speakers, educational workshops, a tradeshow full of potential employers and the chance to network with Kansas Farm Bureau leaders. Over the last few years, I am proud to have worked with our county Farm Bureau board to make trips like this happen for our student members. Providing travel opportunities is invaluable for the development of life and leadership skills. An equally valuable part of these trips are all of the lessons in “adulting” that come from traveling, often for the first time, without family. Even students who have previously travelled are often forced to pay attention to their surroundings, learn how to navigate airports and cities, and how to problem solve in an unfamiliar place. There have been many exciting firsts among the students this trip: first flights over the ocean, first time seeing the ocean and a whole lot of new fun experiences like tasting local cuisine, night kayaking complete with glow-in-the-dark face paint, an excursion to a natural waterfall in the rainforest, and a trip to Disney World on way back. Seeing travel through their youthful eyes has reminded me of the wonder, joy and laughter that come from new adventures. These experiences are instilling in our students a desire to step outside their comfort zones and take risks, to learn about places and cultures different from their own. It is rewarding to see the students getting excited about all the ways they can get involved in our organization in the future, demonstrate a high level of professionalism and service through their volunteer roles at the event, and have meaningful interactions with people who have lots of great life experience to share. As an advisor, I am thrilled when people on the trip complement our collegiate students for showing interest, dress sharping, acting respectfully, and being helpful. Those affirmations are showing the students how to build solid reputations and be a stand out which will serve them well in their professional lives. The lessons of this trip are like pebbles causing ripples in the water. The students will share their memories with family, peers and groups like our county Farm Bureau board, but the impact will be bigger than that. The growth will continue and influence their perspectives for years to come. My excitement for the doors being opened to my students is a bit nostalgic as travel has served as a big part of my own story. I was once young and inexperienced too until organizations in my community and industry made investments in me that changed my life and made me into the person I am today. Travel is powerful at any age but it can be direction altering for our young people to help learn who they are and who they want to become. I urge to you to look for ways to encourage and support young people in your family or community to travel. Your support might be the key that opens the door for a great future leader.

JCPD confirms a homicide investigation is under way

MANHATTAN- The Riley County Police Department says 15-year-old Joshua was last seen on the morning of Friday, December 30th.

Joshua was last seen leaving his home in northeast Manhattan.

Joshua is approximately 5’10” tall and weighs around 180 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a green Nike hoodie, checkered pajama pants, and black and white shoes.

RCPD says they believe Joshua is in in the Manhattan or Junction City area.

POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just after 11a.m. Friday in Pottawatomie County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Toyota Tundra driven by Terry Dean Nelson, 65, Westmoreland, was northbound on Flush Road at U.S. 24.

The driver failed to yield right of way.&nbsp; A westbound 2021 Chevy Tahoe driven by Brenda Joyce Martin, 65, Wamego, struck the Toyota on the passenger side.

EMS transported Nelson to Stomont Vail.&nbsp; A private vehicle transported Martin for treatment. Nelson was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.

TOPEKA — Democrats selected a 
10-year member of the Manhattan City Commission to fill the Kansas 
Senate seat to be vacated by retirement Sen. Tom Hawk.

Usha Reddi, who served twice as mayor of Manhattan, ran for the U.S. 
Senate in 2020 before suspending that campaign as the COVID-19 pandemic 
expanded its reach in Kansas.

She was chosen by precinct members in Riley, Clay and Geary counties 
Thursday to complete two years of Hawk’s term. In December, Hawk said he
 would retire from the Legislature on Jan. 10 — one day after opening of
 the annual session.

“I’m thrilled to represent Senate District 22,” Reddi said. “Senator 
Tom Hawk is an outstanding leader and I’m sure I’ll be reaching out to 
him many times.”

She was initially elected the Manhattan City Commission in 2013 and 
reelected in 2017 and 2021. She was mayor in 2016-2017 and 2020.

Reddi, like Hawk, worked in public education. Hawk is a former 
superintendent and teacher, while Reddi was a first-grade teacher in 
Manhattan-Ogden public schools for more than 10 years. She earned 
degrees elementary education at Kansas State University and 
developmental psychology from Ohio State University. She also completed a
 master’s degree in educational leadership at Kansas State.

Reddi’s family immigrated from India to the United States in 1973 
when she was eight years old. She has resided in Manhattan for 28 years.

“Many of us have known Usha in her capacity as a community leader for
 years now, and we look forward to bringing her into the fold when she 
joins us as a legislative colleague,” said Senate Democratic Leader 
Dinah Sykes of Lenexa.

In terms of the 2023 legislative session, there will be two 
Republican and one Democratic newcomers in the Senate. The GOP will 
still have a 29-11 advantage over Democrats.

The 40-member Senate wasn’t on the ballot in 2022, but Sen. Ron 
Ryckman Sr., R-Meade, won a special election to retain his seat. He was 
appointed in 2021 to replace the late Sen. Bud Estes.

Sen. Richard Hilderbrand, a Republican from Cherokee County, said he 
would resign Sunday from the Legislature. He was appointed to the Senate
 in 2017 and was elected in 2020 to a full term. Republicans in the 13th
 Senate of southeast Kansas will choose a replacement.

Meanwhile, Wichita Republican Sen. Gene Suellentrop stepped down Jan.
 2 from District 27. The Sedgwick County Republican Party’s precinct 
vote resulted in nomination of Chase Blasi, who served on the staff of 
Senate President Ty Masterson of Andover, to represent Suellentrop’s 
district. Blasi defeated Karl Peterjohn, who is on the Sedgwick County 
Commission.

“There are too many things in my life that are more important, at 
this stage, than serving in the Kansas Legislature,” Suellentrop said.

Suellentrop was removed from his post as Senate majority leader after
 arrested in March 2021 in Topeka for driving at high speeds the wrong 
way on Interstate 70. He was found to have a 0.17% blood-alcohol level, 
which was twice the legal limit. He spent two days in jail after 
convicted of driving under the influence and reckless driving.

Senate seat to be vacated by retirement Sen. Tom Hawk.Usha Reddi, who served twice as mayor of Manhattan, ran for the U.S. 
Senate in 2020 before suspending that campaign as the COVID-19 pandemic 
expanded its reach in Kansas.She was chosen by precinct members in Riley, Clay and Geary counties 
Thursday to complete two years of Hawk’s term. In December, Hawk said he
 would retire from the Legislature on Jan. 10 — one day after opening of
 the annual session.“I’m thrilled to represent Senate District 22,” Reddi said. “Senator 
Tom Hawk is an outstanding leader and I’m sure I’ll be reaching out to 
him many times.”She was initially elected the Manhattan City Commission in 2013 and 
reelected in 2017 and 2021. She was mayor in 2016-2017 and 2020.Reddi, like Hawk, worked in public education. Hawk is a former 
superintendent and teacher, while Reddi was a first-grade teacher in 
Manhattan-Ogden public schools for more than 10 years. She earned 
degrees elementary education at Kansas State University and 
developmental psychology from Ohio State University. She also completed a
 master’s degree in educational leadership at Kansas State.Reddi’s family immigrated from India to the United States in 1973 
when she was eight years old. She has resided in Manhattan for 28 years.“Many of us have known Usha in her capacity as a community leader for
 years now, and we look forward to bringing her into the fold when she 
joins us as a legislative colleague,” said Senate Democratic Leader 
Dinah Sykes of Lenexa.In terms of the 2023 legislative session, there will be two 
Republican and one Democratic newcomers in the Senate. The GOP will 
still have a 29-11 advantage over Democrats.The 40-member Senate wasn’t on the ballot in 2022, but Sen. Ron 
Ryckman Sr., R-Meade, won a special election to retain his seat. He was 
appointed in 2021 to replace the late Sen. Bud Estes.Sen. Richard Hilderbrand, a Republican from Cherokee County, said he 
would resign Sunday from the Legislature. He was appointed to the Senate
 in 2017 and was elected in 2020 to a full term. Republicans in the 13th
 Senate of southeast Kansas will choose a replacement.Meanwhile, Wichita Republican Sen. Gene Suellentrop stepped down Jan.
 2 from District 27. The Sedgwick County Republican Party’s precinct 
vote resulted in nomination of Chase Blasi, who served on the staff of 
Senate President Ty Masterson of Andover, to represent Suellentrop’s 
district. Blasi defeated Karl Peterjohn, who is on the Sedgwick County 
Commission.“There are too many things in my life that are more important, at 
this stage, than serving in the Kansas Legislature,” Suellentrop said.Suellentrop was removed from his post as Senate majority leader after
 arrested in March 2021 in Topeka for driving at high speeds the wrong 
way on Interstate 70. He was found to have a 0.17% blood-alcohol level, 
which was twice the legal limit. He spent two days in jail after 
convicted of driving under the influence and reckless driving.

Manhattan commissioner selected to complete Hawk's Senate term

UPDATE: According to the Junction City Police Department Facebook page, as of 12:45 p.m. Friday, January 6th, missing 12-year-old, Caydence has been found safe.

Her picture has been removed for privacy purposes.

Junction City police have announced that they need the public's help locating 12 year old Caydence. 

Caydence was last seen around 5pm Thursday when she left on foot from a residence on the 200 Block of West 6th. 

She was last seen in floral leggings and a white hoody. If you have any information please contact the Junction City Police Department at (785) 762-5912.&nbsp;&nbsp;

FOUND: JCPD says missing 12-year-old found safe

NEW YORK (AP) — Struggling Bed Bath &amp; Beyond warned on Thursday that the home goods retailer may need to file for bankruptcy as sales continue to drop and it struggles to attract shoppers.

The company, with 8 stores in Kansas and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/locations/state/MO">12 in Missouri,</a>&nbsp;said that it’s looking at several options including selling assets or restructuring its business in bankruptcy court, but it acknowledged that even those efforts may not be successful. Shares lost a quarter of their value on the news to trade at $1.82, their lowest level since November 1992.

“There is substantial doubt about the company’s ability to continue as a going concern,” the retailer said in a statement.

The company’s assessment came as its dismal performance continued through the holiday season.

Bed Bath &amp; Beyond expects to report net sales of $1.26 billion for the third quarter ended Nov. 26. That would be a 32% drop from a year earlier. It also anticipates a net loss of roughly $385.8 million for the third quarter, wider than its loss of $276.4 million in the year-earlier period.

The company’s recently-appointed&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/business-cbbc4dbc9bcef6a17a8016df9a1e08a4">CEO and president, Sue Gove,</a>&nbsp;blamed the poor performance on inventory constraints and reduced credit limits that resulted in shortages of merchandise on the shelves.

In August, Bed Bath &amp; Beyond announced it would&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/stock-offerings-chewy-inc-6af2d83aec7cde2cd7b0706b892a4c0c">shutter stores and lay off workers</a>&nbsp;in a bid to turn around its beleaguered business. It closed about 150 of its namesakes stores and slashed its workforce by 20%. It estimated those cuts would save $250 million in the company’s current fiscal year. It also said in August that it had lined up more than $500 million of new financing.

Mired in a prolonged sales slump, the company also announced back in August that it would revert to its original strategy of focusing on national brands, instead of pushing its own store labels.

That reversed a strategy embraced by its&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/33fa91f0e8114f4536dd0d1271ae1d2b">former CEO Mark Tritton</a>, who was ousted last June after less than three years at the helm. It said it would get rid of one-third of its store brands, which had started to be rolled out in the last year or so. Besides Bed Bath &amp; Beyond, the company also runs the buybuy Baby and Harmon chains.

Neil Saunders, managing director of GlobalData Retail, wrote in a report Thursday that Bed Bath &amp; Beyond is “too far gone to be saved in its present form.” He noted that the company could restructure under Chapter 11, but it would still need to come up with a credible plan to reinvent the business, and that is going to be challenging, particularly in a weakening economic environment.

“A catalogue of missteps has run the company into the ground and has made it increasingly irrelevant,” he wrote. “Only very radical action will allow it to survive and even if it does, it will be a shadow of its former self.”

The company is set to release final third-quarter results on Tuesday.

MANHATTAN - Around 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4th, Riley County Police Department was dispatched to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of McCall Road and Carlson Street, near Champion Sportswear and Menards.

Upon arrival, officers found a white Ford Explorer and a white Jeep Compass had been involved in a collision.&nbsp;

Eastbound traffic was delayed while officers investigated the incident and crews cleaned up from the vehicle crashes.

One driver complained of whiplash on scene, but declined treatment by Riley County EMS.

MANHATTAN - The City of Manhattan wants you to drop off your live Christmas trees at Longs Park for recycling.

Christmas trees need to have all decorations removed before being dropped off.

The trees will be sent through the chipper and turned into mulch, which will be used in parks throughout the city of Manhattan's parks and trails.

The drop off is located on the east side of Longs Park on S. 16th Street, near the Colorado Street intersection.

Live Christmas trees can be dropped off through January 31, 2023.
