The City of Manhattan said that the public works day shift reported to work at 7 a.m. Tuesday. They will work a 12-hour day shift to finish clearing major roadways. Snow could continue later into today, according to US National Weather Service Topeka Kansas, and a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until midnight Wednesday (tonight).
An Extreme Cold Warning remains in effect until noon Thursday. Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 to 28 below zero are possible. These wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Dress in layers, including a hat, face mask, and gloves, if you must go outside. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
