
GEARY COUNTY —Friends have established an online fundraiser to assist the family of 4-year-old Axel who was reported missing in Geary County on June 5 and died the following day.

“Axel, the cherished son of Logan Toneys and Cheyenne Koppa, while non-verbal communicated in ways that touched everyone around him. His smile, his presence, and his unique spirit had a way of lighting up every room he entered,” the GoFundMe reads . “No parent should ever have to endure the loss of a child, and no family should have to face these challenges alone”.
Ten days ago, the Geary County Sheriff's Office confirmed the death of a missing boy, who had been reported to be non-verbal individual with autism. He was reported missing June 5, and was found early the following day.. The child was transported to the Stormont Vail Health - Flint Hills campus where he was pronounced deceased.
The Sheriff's officce offered condolences to the family, and expresssed gratitude to the many agencies, first reponders, volunteers and community members who dedicated their time and resources to the search effort.
