The historic Brookville Hotel, best known for family-style fried chicken dinners since 1870, is closing again. On the social media page, the managers announced the news Wednesday.
"With heavy hearts, we share news we never imagined having to write. After more than 150 years as Brookville Hotel and later Legacy Kansas, the owners have made the difficult decision to close their doors at this time."

The restaurant moved from its original location to 105 E Lafayette Avenue in Abilene in 1999. It operated there until closing in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. In 2022, the building was acquired and rebranded as Legacy Kansas.
