Steven J. Jarmer, 63, Manhattan KS, passed away September 19 2023, at St Anthony’s Hospital Westminster CO, while vacationing in Rocky Mountain National Park, which was his favorite place to be.

He was born December 6, 1959 in Abilene KS, to Paul and Donna Jarmer. Steve graduated from Chapman High School with the class of 1978. He attended Great Bend Community College after high school. Steve worked for the city of Salina as a water treatment plant operator before taking a job as water treatment plant operator at Fort Riley KS. After many years of service there he retired in 2017.

Steve enjoyed his retirement by traveling to Mexico in the winter and Colorado in the summer. He was a great brother and friend and many times let his sisters join him in his travels.

He spent every Sunday spending time with his Mom in her last years of life. Steve’s family meant everything to him.

He enjoyed going to the gym daily and visiting with his friends there. He loved being outdoors enjoying nature and wildlife and watching football with his family.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Donna Jarmer, his brother Greg Jarmer, and his niece Lindsey Nichols.

He is survived by sisters, Debbie (James) Templeton, Tecumseh MI., and Sandy (Jeri) Hynek, Manhattan KS., as well as 4 nephews and one niece.

His wish was to be cremated and his ashes spread in mountains of Colorado.
