Tillie A. Locklear, 88, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at her daughter's home in Junction City, KS. A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home with a rosary prayed at 6:30 p.m. Her ashes will be buried at a later date at Fort Riley Post Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to be given to Cattails Kitty Rescue of Manhattan, KS.
Tillie was born December 28, 1933, in Ogden, UT, the daughter of Encarnacion and Helen (Florez) Armendariz.
Tillie was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church in Junction City. She worked in the lunch room at Ware Elementary.
Tillie married Governor Locklear October 10, 1953. He passed away May 23, 1989
Survivors include one son, Lance A. Locklear of Fayetteville, NC; two daughters, Melodee Morton and her husband Randall of Garland, TX and Stephanie A. Locklear of Junction City, KS; seven grandchildren, Lauren Locklear, Philip Locklear, Ashton Mailea, Alexya Mailea, Melissa Locklear, Ryne Locklear and Michael Locklear; two great-grandchildren, Jaden Paul and Audre Booth; one sister, Sylvia Rodriguez.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Governor; one brother, Andrew Armendariz.
