WABAUNSEE COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 5p.m. Wednesday in Wabaunsee County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2025 Toyota Rav4 driven by Blake Ronald Turner, 79, Aurora, Colorado, was westbound on Interstate 70 just west of Vera Road. The Toyota traveled off the the roadway to the left, continued through the center median, continued down an embankment, rolled and came to rest submerged in a creek.
Turner was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Forensic Medical. He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
