MANHATTAN - The Boys and Girls Club of Manhattan's annual Duck Dash Fundraiser raises money to support programming for the children who come to the club.
"We generally raise about $35,000 with our Duck Dash event, which really helps us to put on our fall programming. We have about 1,800 kids coming every day and so that makes it possible to have great staff and supplies to implement some programs." Boys & Girls Club of Manhattan, CEO, Hannah Coash says.
The winning duck entry won the lease of a new Chevy Colorado, which was sponsored by Briggs Auto.
"We like to try and give back to everyone who has already given back to everything else we've got a lot of great stuff going on, especially the Boys & Girls Club, the Flint Hills Discovery Center, and everything else, so it's kind of our saying thank you and appreciation." Kent Briggs says.
This year's winner of the Duck Dash was Tori Brown, who bought ducks for the first time. Brown was contacted about being a winner, as she was not present at the drawing..
"DJ Dan Michaels, he and I, we've been friends forever, and he called me on Facebook and then he messaged me that I won the truck. It was just kind of a crazy deal." Tori says.
Tori says she plans to drive the truck to her real estate showings and take a few road trips as part of celebrating winning the use of the truck.
"It was a good week. I got married the same week, I won the truck, I closed my first real estate deal, so it was all a good week so that was just icing on a good week." Tori says.
