MANHATTAN, KANSAS, May 7, 2026 — After thoughtful consideration, District 67 Representative Angel Roeser announced  that she will not seek re-election at the conclusion of her current term serving the people of her district in the Kansas Legislature. “Serving my community has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” said Roeser. “I am deeply grateful to the constituents of District 67, community leaders, volunteers, friends, and family members who placed their trust in me and supported our work throughout my time in office.”

During her term, Roeser worked on issues impacting Kansas families, local businesses, economic development, and community engagement while remaining active in civic and regional initiatives across the state. This includes passing PBM reform, putting property back on the local tax rolls, updating licensure compacts to support various industries across the state, adding appropriations to special education, protecting foster children’s rights to an efficient court hearing process, and more. She remained committed to being an accurate reflection of our entire district, not just a political party, not a personal agenda, but of the community. “

This decision did not come lightly,” Roeser said. “I am proud to say I have stood ten toes down for my hometown in the Statehouse, however, I believe this is the right time for me to focus on new opportunities and continue serving my community in different ways.” Roeser emphasized the importance of building strong bipartisan relationships during her time in public service, noting that many of the issues facing Kansas communities — especially agriculture, rural development, and small business growth — transcend party lines.
