On Tuesday afternoon, Riley County Fire District #1 was notified of a vehicle fire located near Fairview Church Road and Walnut Creek Road in northern Riley County.
Volunteer fire fighters found a John Deere silage chopper on fire when they arrived on scene.
Fire crews extinguished the fire in an hour and kept it from spreading to neighboring fields.
Seven volunteer firefighters responded to the scene with three fire trucks. The damage estimate was not immediately available, however the John Deere was determined to be a total loss.
