Josephine (Jo) A. (Davies) Olson, long time resident of Junction City, resided at Rolling Hills Health Care Center of Topeka, Kansas from 2015 to December 26, 2023. She was the daughter of William and Mable (Snell) Davies, born March 11, 1928 in Milford, Kansas. She married Paul Olson on January 18, 1948. They were married for nearly sixty years. She had one daughter, Janetta (Olson) Neidens; five grandchildren: Jennifer (Neidens) Krehbiel (married to Dean Krehbiel); Daniel Neidens (deceased); Lorinda (Neidens) Lonard (married to Steven Lonard); Jeremy Neidens (married to Becki); and Tabitha (Neidens) Baldwin (married to Shannon Baldwin); eleven great grandchildren: Colter Krehbiel; Tamara Krehbiel; Zane Lonard; Gabriel Baldwin; Maxwell Lonard; Dakota Baldwin; Seth Lonard; Evan Lonard; Trinity Baldwin; Betty Neidens and Devlin Neidens; three great, great grandchildren: Lane Krehbiel; Tyrell Krehbiel; and Kelli Krehbiel.
Jo was more than a mom of her own, but to many she had as a daycare provider. During her life she worked as an aide at the Geary County Hospital; and in the bakery at Dillons. She spent a great portion of her life in service to the First Christian Church, Junction City in various ways; as a volunteer for the local Salvation Army. She cared for her husband, Paul, for many years in their home.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Mabel Davies; siblings: Lillian Schmutz, Donald Davies, Willaim Davies Jr., Mabel Smith, Clinton Davies, William Roger Davies, Rita Davies, V’ona Smith; and one grandson: Daniel Neidens.She is survived by her daughter Janetta and her husband Terry; her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren; brothers James Davies, Robert Davies, and sister Nancy Herrman.
She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2023, at First Christian Church. Pastor Terry Neidens will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will follow the funeral at Highland Cemetery.
