Wilberta Hulett

Wilberta Hulett, 85, of Saint George, KS, formerly from Humansville, MO, passed away October 11, 2022 at Ascension Via Christi in Manhattan, KS after a short illness.

On December 20, 1936 Claude and Martha (Ballard) Paul welcome into this world Wilberta Jane. Along with her big Sister Maggie Belle, they were the apples of their parents’ eyes. Even though there was a 10-year difference between the two sisters, they were extremely close and each other’s best friend until Maggie’s death.

In 1952 a tall lanky guy caught Wilberta’s eyes and she caught his eyes as well. The courtship began and the couple soon were almost inseparable. On July 31, 1954 Wilberta and Roy Hulett were married and the love affair continued for more than 61 years, until Roy’s passing in 2016. Although, Wilberta enjoyed her remaining years, her heart longed to be reunited with Roy Dee.

Wilberta happily followed Roy wherever she could while he served in the United States Army. While they explored the world the filled their home with four children, Ronda, Flora, Roy, Jr. and Jimmy. Raising her family was her priority during those years. Sharing her talents by making uniforms, flags, banners and other sport related items.

Wilberta wasn’t a soccer Mom, she was a Baseball, Softball, Basketball, Football, Scout, 4-H, Rodeo, Horse Shows, Saddle Club and Farm Mom. She also spent time volunteering at the children’s schools. Wilberta’s family was her pride and joy.

While Roy Dee served in Korea and Vietnam, Wilberta kept the home fires burning teaching their children about Faith. Teaching them to pray for their Daddy every night. Showing them the same sun and moon they saw was the same lights to guide their Daddy.

After Roy’s retirement from the Army, they returned home to Humansville, Missouri where they would live together until Roy Dee’s death.

While in Humansville, Wilberta worked as a Certified Med Tech at Big Springs Nursing Home for over 30 years.

Wilberta is survived by her children Ronda Lean, Collins MO, Flora Beckman, Clinton MO, Roy Jr. (Irma), Saint George KS, Jimmy (Angela) Omaha NE; brother-in-law Rex (Wanita) Hulett, Milford KS, sister-in-laws Catherine (Bill) Garrison, Springfield MO, Judy (Paul) Bissing, Seguin TX; her 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wilberta was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, son-in-law Larry Lean, sister Maggie (Floyd) Kelly, sisters-in-law Peggy, Waneta, Tudy and Gayle, brothers-in-law Elsworth, Vic and Paul.

In lieu of flowers the family asks you consider donating to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Wilberta’s honor.

Graveside service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Humansville Cemetery, Humansville MO.
