Two Riley County residents have passed away after testing positive for COVID-19.
- A 63 year old unvaccinated female tested positive on 10/5/21 and died 10/15/21
- A 46 year old unvaccinated male died on 7/29/21. Lab tests performed after his death confirmed COVID-19 as a contributing factor of death
Their deaths bring the total number of COVID-related deaths in the county to 64.
Riley County has identified 116 new positive Coronavirus cases and 88 additional recoveries since the last report on November 10, 2021.
In Riley County, since December, there have been a total of 256 positive cases from variants of concern.
Six COVID-positive patients are currently under care at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan. Five patients, one of whom is fully vaccinated, are on the medical floor. One unvaccinated patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
