Martha Ann Parry, 78, of Alma, Kansas, formerly of Benton, Kansas, died Sunday, November 7, 2021 in her home.
Born March 13, 1943 in Wichita, Kansas, Martha was the daughter of Walter and Alma Phares Duncan. She was united in marriage to Robert E. Parry on August 28, 1965 at Naval Air Station Barber's Point, Hawaii. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2020.
A longtime resident of Benton, Kansas, Martha recently moved to Alma to be near family. She was a member of Chapel Hill Fellowship Church in Wichita where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also enjoyed cross-stitching, solving crossword puzzles and studying Civil War history, but her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren and following their activities.
Martha stayed at home to raise her family. She later was the City Clerk for Benton, Kansas and an assistant Librarian for Benton Elementary School.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas R. Parry (Jeanne) of Paxico, KS and Daryn R. Parry (Andrea Haines) of Borger, TX; five grandchildren, Lanson Parry, Rhett Parry, Gage Parry, Gavin Parry and Grant Parry; a brother, Gerald Duncan (Janet) of Girard, KS; a sister in law, Pat Grove (Don) of El Dorado, KS; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Parry was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; a brother, R. J. Duncan; and a nephew, Brandon Duncan.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home of Alma.
Graveside inurnment services will be held Saturday afternoon (December 18, 2021) at the Benton Cemetery in Benton, Kansas with Pastor Jeff Gannon officiating.
The family will meet with friends following the service at the Benton Community Building.
