Kurt Elling joins forces with the Yellowjackets in a musical tribute to Weather Report

MANHATTAN — The McCain Performance Series welcomes Kurt Elling and the Yellowjackets to Manhattan for a night of jazz. The performance will be a musical tribute to the supergroup Weather Report at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 25.

Kurt Elling, a two-time Grammy Award winner, will perform his own version of Weather Report’s iconic songs with new vocalese arrangements inspired by their diverse group of musicians. The program will feature compositions such as “The Remark You Made,” “Three Views of a Secret” and “Continuum.”

The Yellowjackets have had a 43-year history, during which they have released 26 albums, received 18 Grammy nominations, and won two awards. They have performed countless sold-out tours and achieved critical acclaim and commercial success worldwide. Formed in the late 1970s, they continue to captivate loyal fans while also attracting new listeners and younger jazz audiences.
