CSM (RET) George S. Bowman Jr., age 76, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service with full military honors will take place Friday, June 2, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Kansas Veteran's Cemetery with Will Ravenstein officiating.

George
served in the United States Army until retirement. After retiring from
the service he went on to join the Barton County Community Troop School
on Fort Riley, where he taught for several years. He enjoyed riding his
motorcycle, hunting, and fishing. George had many interests and was
apart of several organizations to include: The American Legion Post #45,
The Fraternal Order of Eagles, and The Junction City Elks Lodge #1037.
On
September 28, 1996, he went on to marry the love of his life, Elsie J.
"Ellie" Hite; George and Ellie married in Junction City where they
remained.
Survivors include his loving wife Ellie of Junction
City, Kansas; two brothers, Keith (Noel) Bowman of Hutchinson, Kansas,
and Sam (Jeanette) Ebey of Virginia; one sister, Robin (Todd) Burkhead
of Maryland, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in
death by his parents, George Bowman, Sr., and Grace Ebey; step-parents,
Marion Ebey and Jean Bowman; and two brothers, Wayne Ebey and Timmy
Bowman.
