Work is under way on the annual Operation Santa Claus campaign to provide Christmas gifts for children of Soldiers in the Fort Riley. One of the Soldiers ( elves ) working on the campaign, Sgt. Ryan Tate, said in 2019 OSC served 340 families and 617 children.
Another of the elves, SPC Tabetha Tinsley, said they are currently looking for toy donations for infants 0 to 1 year of age and girls ages 8 to 14. On the types of toys needed, Tinsley said, "Hot items this year have been the Blue Tooth, headphones and speakers for the older kids."
You can make a donation or drop-off at the Chamber of Commerce in both Junction City and Manhattan, and with various brigades on Fort Riley. Monetary donations are accepted.
