Richard F. Stonger, age 67, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
Richard was born January 30, 1957, in Marysville, to Francis K. and Gertrude C. (Droegemueller) Stonger. He graduated from Marysville High School in 1975 then from Manhattan Area VoTech in 1977. He had worked for Burlington Northern Railroad as a welder on a maintenance of way crew.
He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Richard loved being with his nieces and nephews, and many friends. He also loved his dogs, especially his Labrador Retrievers. He also enjoyed being outside; either hunting, fishing, working in his garage on old cars and trucks, or fixing and eating good Bar-B-Que, and taking memorable trips.
Survivors include his sister Kathy (Bryon) Armstrong of Winifred, his nieces and nephews: Roger Armstrong, Brad Armstrong, Jenny (Justin) Stallbaumer and Jody Crumbley and many great nieces and nephews.
Preceding Richard in death are his parents, Francis and Gertrude.
A Celebration of Life will be held at his home, 701 S. 7th Street, Marysville, Kansas, at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024. A private inurnment will be held at a later time.
Memorials are suggested to Pony Express Veterinary Clinic to be used for pet rescue and may be sent in care of Christie-Anderes Funeral Home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
