Riley County Health releases the latest COVID-19 report

Riley County has identified 118 new positive Coronavirus cases and 98 additional recoveries since the last report on September 8 2021. 

In Riley County, since December, there have been a total of 160 positive cases from variants of concern

Six unvaccinated COVID-positive patients are currently under care at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan. One patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). 

Riley County Statistics for September 15

  1. Total positive cases in Riley County Residents: 7,693
  2. Total active: 196
  3. Total recovered: 7,440
  4. Total deaths: 57
  5. Total variant cases: 160

Vaccine Operations: 
Riley County Health Department has fully vaccinated 22,510 (34.9%) of the 64,433 eligible Riley County residents.  This figure does not include those vaccinated at various pharmacies, other medical facilities and outside of Riley County. 

Third doses are now available for individuals with serious health conditions and have received two Moderna or Pfizer vaccine doses. These health conditions include:

  1. Active treatment for a solid tumor or hematologic malignancies
  2. Receipt of solid organ transplant and taking immunosuppressive therapy
  3. Receipt of stem cell transplant within the past two years
  4. HIV infection
  5. Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency
  6. Treatment with high dose steroids or immunosuppressive drugs

Booster shot appointments are not available to the general public at this time. Please do not call the Health Department to schedule a vaccine appointment unless you have a serious health condition that meets the criteria above or if you need to schedule your first or second dose of the vaccine.
