MANHATTAN - Sunset Zoo is celebrating Valentine's Day all week with multiple themed events.
For the entire month of February, the Sunset Zoo is offering buy one get one free admission, invite a friend or loved one to join you for an outing to the Zoo.
From February 12th through the 14th, guests at the Sunset Zoo can create a Valentine which can either be taken home or made for one of the Zoo's resident animals.
All arts and craft supplies for the Valentines will be provided by Sunset Zoo. The activity is free with paid admission from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Sunset Zoo is once again acknowledging the sometimes 'Love Bites!' allowing community members to name a cockroach after someone.
The cockroaches will then be fed to the Sunset Zoo's sloth bears. Community members wishing to name a cockroach can it through the CivicRec page.
Cockroaches will be limited to 20 per day and a $10 donation is required to name the cockroach. If you have issue with the Civic Rec system, contact the Zoo directly at 785-587-2737.
