Lloyd Edward Walters, 74 died December 8, 2023, in Salina, KS.

He was born on October 23, 1949, in Clarion, PA, the son of Alfred and Barbara (Melnak) Walters.   Lloyd was raised in Sharon, PA.  

He served in the US Army for 26 years.  While in the Army, Lloyd served in Europe, three tours to the DMZ in Korea and in the Persian Gulf War in 1990-91.  

After retiring from the army, he worked as a substance abuse counselor for several years.  In 2021, Lloyd married Gidget Hare.  

During a cross-country road trip, their vehicle broke down in Clay Center, KS.  They enjoyed the community so much; they decided to stay and make Clay Center their home.  Lloyd was a member of the VFW, American Legion, DAV and supported many charitable organizations through the years.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret Pinch.

Funeral Services:  1:00 PM Monday, December 18, 2023, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Fort Riley, 5181 Wildcat Creek Rd., Manhattan KS 66503.
