Roger A. Beckley was born March 6, 1955 in Plainville, Kansas the son of Willard and Emily (McLaughlin) Beckley. He passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024.
Roger was a graduate of Plainville High School with the class of 1973. He was a District Sales Manager with AMCON Distributing for 25 years, before retiring. Roger served his country in the United States Army and served in the Army Reserves for over 30 years. He also enjoyed many capacities in the American Legion and spending time with his grandchildren.
On May 29, 1982, Roger was united in marriage to Peggy Varner in Salina. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his daughters Jami and her husband Brad Noone of Wichita, Nicole and her husband Jason Demars of Abilene, Megan Beckley of Abilene, son Rob Beckley and his wife Linda of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, brother Larry Beckley and his wife Janie of Wichita, sisters Shirley and her husband Glenn Arbogast of York, Nebraska, Cheryl and her husband Ron Meyers of Stamford, Nebraska, Nancy Stewart of Andover, sister-in-law Sharon Beckley of Mankato, Kansas, mother-in-law Jan Brax of Abilene, brother-in-law Jay Varner and his wife LeeAnn of Oskaloosa, Kansas, grandchildren Samuel Noone, Sadie Noone, Colt Demars, Chloe Demars, Terra Grace Beckley, Hudson Beckley, Emily Beckley, Dawson Beckley, Jackson Beckley, Colson Beckley, and Harley Beckley. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Willard Beckley and brother and sister-in-law Ron and Elizabeth Beckley.
Funeral services for Roger will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at the Emmanuel Church in Abilene with Pastor Marc Riegel officiating. His final resting place will be in the Kansas Veterans Cemetery near Manhattan, Kansas at 1:00 p.m. with military honors provided by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard and the Manhattan American Legion.
