Saturday night's lightning-caused fire at Geary Estates apartments has prompted multiple organziations to offer assistance to those impacted.
Firefighters from Grandview Plaza, Geary County, Junction City and Fort Riley all responded to the blaze in a 36-unit building, limiting the fire to the roof. The units impacted, however, are uninhabitable.
Investigators were on the scene Sunday to determine the amount of damage and verify the cause.
The Junction City Animal Shelter is offering temporary shelter for those who may need to shelter their pets while clarifying housing arrangements.
