William Carl Hentzler, III, age 78 of Silver Lake, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at UKH St. Francis Medical Center in Topeka.
He was born on April 27, 1943 in Topeka, the son of William C. Jr. and Ethel Anne (Setchell) Hentzler.
He married Marilyn Rae Foresman in 2000. She survives of the home.
Bill was a carmen and welder for Santa Fe Railroad. He loved attending his grandkids activities, gardening, golfing and his dogs. He enjoyed volunteering for the United Way, Cancer Society, Operation Backpack, Let’s Help and Prairieland Foods.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, William Bret Hentzler of Topeka; three daughters, Brooke Louanne Roark and husband Brendon of Topeka, Jill R. Weems of Salina and Jayme May and husband Ivan of Silver Lake; one sister, Judith Anne Hentzler of Topeka; one brother, John Henry and wife Beverly of Georgetown, Texas and also an eight man football team with two subs and four cheerleaders (thirteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter).
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation is planned with graveside services in the Bala Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. on April 9, 2022.
Memorials may be made to the Silver Lake Scholarship Fund or to the Donor’s Choice. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
