Eudora June McQueen

Eudora J. McQueen, 90, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023, from injuries she received in an auto accident.

She was born in rural Jackson County on April 15, 1932, the daughter of Emery E. and Bertha R. (Dibbern) Eakin.  Eudora graduated from Delia High School in 1950.

Eudora and her husband Harold were farmers and ranchers.  She was a member of the Delia Presbyterian Church and the UPW.  She was very active in her community and church.  Eudora worked for the United States Postal Service and USD #321 for several years.  She served on the election board for many years.  She was recently elected to serve as the clerk of Adrian Township and the Republican Committee Woman for the township.  Eudora was a member of the Monday quilt group that started as the Presbyterian woman and later ladies of the community.  She was a crafter and had made over a hundred quilts for family, friends, and the Delia Bazaar.  She helped with concessions at many auctions.  Eudora was a member of Delia Pride and a past member of the Eastern Star.

Eudora Eakin and Harold McQueen were united in marriage on October 18, 1952, at the Circleville Christian Church.  He preceded her in death on March 2, 2009.  Eudora was also preceded by her parents, her twin brother Edward Eakin and her sister Ivaleu Miller.

Survivors include her sons, Lee (Patty) McQueen, Kearney, NE and Glen McQueen, Delia; her daughter, Denise (Paul) Virgadamo, New Port Richey, FL; three grandchildren, Megan, McQueen, Kansas City, MO, Kurt McQueen, Benton, AR, and Gwen McKay, Oakland, CA.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the Delia Presbyterian Church.  Burial will be in the Delia Cemetery.  Eudora will lie in state, and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, April  25, 2023, at Piper Funeral Home.
