KHP IDs Manhattan man injured in pedestrian accident

MANHATTAN —A man was injured in an accident just after 7:30a.m. Wednesday in Manhattan.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by  Kara Catherine Ray, 47, Manhattan, was westbound in the 1600 block Claflin Road just west of Mid-Kansas Drive. 

The car struck a pedestrian identified as 62-year-old Randall Wayne Mai of Manhattan, who was walking north across Claflin Road not in a crosswalk.

EMS transported to Stormont Vail for treatment of serious injuries. Ray was not injured.

MANHATTAN - At approximately 7:30 am on Wednesday, Kansas State University Police Department responded to the report of a vehicle versus pedestrian crash in the 1600 block of Claflin Road.

The pedestrian was transported to Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan by Riley County EMS for treatment of injuries.

The crash is under investigation and additional details will be added as they become available.
