Rural Opportunity Zone is a workforce recruitment tool from the State of Kansas. The program facilitates the population growth of rural Kansas communities in 95 designated counties through the use of tax relief and student loan reimbursement. Under the program, qualified individuals could be eligible to receive Kansas state income tax abatements and student loan reimbursements on a matched basis through sponsorship  from employers and local foundations.

The Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that you can learn more about Rural Opportunity Zone at the C.L. Hoover Opera House in Junction City at 1 p.m. on Thursday. The speaker will be Rachell Rowand from the Kansas Department of Commerce. This session could benefit employers, human resources and local foundation representatives.
