Betty Jean Harding’s life began on June 18, 1927. She was the daughter of Myron H. and Nannie Sue (Huwitt) Sanders in Shelbina, MO. Betty grew up on the family farm and spent plenty of time helping with daily chores and farm work. She graduated from Shelbina High School Class of 1945. She married Gifford Richard Harding on May 18, 1949, in Shelbina. Betty worked as a nurse, and also provided At-Home care for the elderly and disabled for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Herington, KS. She enjoyed fishing trips in Colorado, and she loved gardening and growing her own fresh vegetables for her family.
Her loving family includes her younger brother, Delvert (Phyllis) Sanders of Mexico, MO, and their children and grandchildren, her son, Ronald H. (Chorng Sun) Harding, her grandchildren, Ronald Jr. (Rosa I.), and Warren M., and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gifford. Betty passed away peacefully into her Savior’s arms on January 19, 2022, at the age of 94 years old.
Her family will gather to greet friends AT 9 a.m. February 2nd at First Baptist Church in Herington, KS, followed immediately by her funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Hope City Cemetery.
