A member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity is battling cancer, and his brothers and alumni have been stepping up to help.
House Mother Dianna Philippi served as Aaron Hendrickson's House Mom during his years at the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. Aaron was an outstanding member as he took his oath of ARG - MAKING BETTER MEN seriously. Aaron graduated from KSU in 2019. He moved back to his hometown of Hanover, Kansas where he started his career as analyst for the Washington First National Bank. In March, 2020 he accepted a position with Bank of the Valley in Columbus, Nebraska. In April he proposed to his girlfriend AND SHE SAID YES. Life was good.
In mid June of this year he ended up in the ER with an uncontrollable nosebleed. After running some tests to determine the cause he was transferred to Bryan Health in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Leukemia and immediately started chemotherapy. Unfortunately he experienced complications and was transferred to the University of Omaha where he started a new regime of immuotherapy in preparation for a bone marrow transplant. The search for bone marrow donors began. When he returned for his follow-up in preparation for a bone marrow transplant there was no detection of Leukemia!
Aaron continues his current regiment of immunotherapy and will be seeking a second opinion for a group of specialists in Seattle, Washington. The doctors have told Aaron his current treatment will last approximately 3 years. It goes without saying few people have the financial resources to pay for a catastrophic illness.
In times of crisis families come together to support each other both mentally and financially. Recently the Alumni and undergraduates of Alpha Gamma Rho Manhattan chapter presented Aaron with a gift of $5,200.00. You can help Aaron Hendrickson.
