RILEY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged scam.
Just after 3:30p.m. Thursday, officers filed a report for fraud in Manhattan. A 27-year-old man reported he was scammed by an unknown suspect into depositing a forged check and sending them the money online, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.
The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,350. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service allows you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
