The Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Manhattan have announced Mark Bachamp as the recipient of the 2026 Lyle Butler Distinguished Leadership Award.

Established in 2003, the award recognizes Leadership Manhattan alumni who demonstrate exceptional leadership and service to the community. In 2018, the award was renamed in honor of former Chamber President and CEO Lyle Butler and his lasting impact on the Manhattan community.

This year’s recipient exemplifies the spirit of the award through decades of professional excellence, civic engagement, and unwavering dedication to the betterment of the region.

Throughout his career and community involvement, Bachamp has embodied that philosophy. His leadership and service have touched countless organizations and initiatives throughout Manhattan, helping shape the places where residents gather, learn, work, and build community.

Bachamp’s career began in an era when construction drawings were completed by hand, providing a foundation of technical expertise and practical experience that has guided his professional success. However, it is his commitment to serving others and investing in the community that truly distinguishes his leadership legacy.

Over the years, Bachamp has served on numerous boards and committees, including the Manhattan Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, Meadowlark Hills Executive Board, USD 383 Foundation Board, and the City of Manhattan Housing Appeals Board. His involvement with the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce has also been extensive, including service as Chairman of the Board and helping lead efforts to bring the spec warehouse program to Manhattan.

In addition to his professional and civic commitments, Bachamp has remained deeply invested in his family and community life, supporting local schools, athletics, booster clubs, church activities, and countless community initiatives alongside his wife of nearly 43 years.

For his years of dedicated service, thoughtful leadership, and steadfast commitment to the Manhattan community, Leadership Manhattan is honored to present the 2026 Lyle Butler Distinguished Leadership Award to Mark Bachamp.
