SFC (Ret.) William H. Tucker, Jr., 69, of Junction City, Kansas passed away on June 21, 2024, at Good Shepherd Hospice House.
William was born on December 22, 1954, to William Sr. and Helen Tucker. He grew up in Williamsburg, Virginia and graduated high school from there. He enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1976, and served in the Infantry until his honorable retirement in 1998. Charlie Co 1-16th Infantry Battalion was his last Unit. Upon his military retirement, he started another career with Foot Locker Distribution Center lasting 26 years. His retirement date was June 1, 2024.
William is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; Daughter, Kiera Tucker; step-son, Cal Cunningham; step-daughter, Aurora J. Cunningham; sister, Karen Alexander, five grandchildren, Mariah Hollie, Jackson Hollie, Ellis Cunningham, Claire Cunningham, and Tess Dixon; one nephew, Harry Alexander, Jr. and his father, William H. Tucker, Sr.He was preceded by his mother, Helen; one son, Maurice O. Tucker, and one sister, Doris O'Reda Tucker.
A private memorial service will take place at a later date with full military honors.
