SFC (RET) William J. "Joe" Leiss, 75, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, KS.&nbsp; A graveside service with full military honors will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery. A visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Home. Joe was born July 30, 1947, in Ohio the son of Carl E. and Martha E. (Magato) Leiss. Joe served in the United States Army retiring in 1974. After his retirement, he owned and operated Riverside Bar and Grill, Ann's Place and Chowon Restaurant all in Junction City, KS. He married Ann Lee Leiss on July 1, 1989 in Junction City. Survivors include his wife Ann of the home; two sons, William Anderson of Junction City, KS and Eddie Leiss of NC; one daughter, Anna Perez of Denver, CO; one brother, Donald Leiss of Bellefontaine, OH; three sisters, Pat Stewart of Sydney, OH, Linda Mann and Shirley Brown both of Jackson Center, OH; six grandchildren and his puppy dog "Boots". He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ronald Leiss; one sister, Mary Ellen Meyers and one grandchild.
