Jesse S. Anguiano, 91 of Abilene passed away August 17, 2023. He was born December 26, 1931 in Manchester, Kansas the son of Sebriano and Labrada (Compos) Anguiano. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1952, serving on the Radar Destroyer. He was honorably discharged in 1956. On August 9, 1958 he was united in marriage to Mary Gil Anguiano. He was a member of the Eagles Men’s Group; VFW; and St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. Jesse worked for the Abilene COOP.
He is survived by his children: Anthony (Karen) Anguiano of Wichita; Marc (Kristi) Anguiano of Abilene; and Jon Anguiano of Abilene. Grandchildren: Brittany, Austin and Caleb (Sam) Anguiano of Wichita; Alyshia (Zach) Shelton of Littleton, Colorado; Joshua (Leah) Anguiano of Salina; Matthew (Megan) Anguiano of Topeka; Michael, Logan, and Megan Anguiano of Abilene. Great-Grandchildren: Kadence, Jesse, Lettie, Kyson, and Slade. One brother, John (Judy) Anguiano of Abilene and one sister Mary Margaret Randall of Abilene. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Mary, of 64 years; and siblings: Rosario (Josepha) Anguiano; Tony (Lupe) Anguiano; Benjamin (Debbie) Anguiano; Gennevieve (Norman) Burwell, and Josephine Anguiano. The family has chosen cremation.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 9, 2023 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Parish Rosary will be recited 5:30 p.m. on Friday, September 8th at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. The family suggests memorials be given to St. Andrew’s School Adopt-A-Student Program. Memorials may be dropped off at the church on the day of the service or mailed to Danner Funeral Home, 501 N. Buckeye, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
