Geary County Emergency Management issued information from the National Weather Service on Wednesday.

Heat remains through the week with heat index values around or above 100 degrees into the weekend. Storm chances increase late Wednesday night, some of which could be severe. The strongest storms will be capable of damaging wind gusts and to a lesser extent large hail up to quarter size – also can't rule out localized flash flooding concerns with heavy rainfall.

Severe storms are once again possible Thursday, mainly in the afternoon. Confidence is lower for Thursday afternoon at this time due to Wednesday night storms.
