MANHATTAN - Shortly after 8:00 am, Monday, August 8th, crews from Manhattan Fire Department were called to the 1600 block of Little Kitten Avenue in northwest Manhattan on the report of a gas leak.
Twenty residents in the 1600 block were evacuated from their homes as a precaution until the leak was resolved.
Kansas Gas Service also responded to the scene, clamping off the leaking pipe to contain the leak, before repairs were made.
Crews from Quint 3 and Quint 5 were on standby at the scene and assisted with the evacuation and return of residents to the area.
Residents were allowed to return to their homes before 9:00 am.
