RILEY COUNTY - A Manhattan man was killed on Friday afternoon following a motorcycle versus truck crash on Tuttle Creek Blvd at West 92nd Avenue.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol online crash logs, at just before 4:00 pm on Friday, a 2016 Ford F-150, driven by 66-year-old Donald E. Oriley of Hopkins Missouri, was preparing to turn left onto West 92nd Avenue. Oriley was not injured in the crash.
While waiting to make the turn a 2012 Harley Davidson FLHX motorcycle, driven by 66-year-old, Daniel G. Davis of Manhattan, collided with back left corner of the F-150.
Davis was ejected from the motorcycle, according to KHP, he was wearing safety glasses but no helmet. Davis died at the scene.
A third vehicle, a 2018 Dodge Journey, driven by 15-year-old Hope Wilson of Wakefield, was struck by debris as a result of the original crash. Wilson was not injured in the crash.
Wilson's passenger, 52-year-old Shannon D. Wilson, also of Wakefield was not injured in the crash.
Tuttle Creek Boulevard was closed for a few hours while emergency crews worked the scene of the crash, the roadway was reopened around 7:30 pm.
