Sheriff's K9 helps catch suspect wanted in Pottawatomie County

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas man on multiple charges following a Tuesday traffic stop

Just after 11:30 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Cavalier near the intersection of SE 6th Avenue and Madison Street, according to Deputy Shayna Anderson.

During the investigation, a K9 unit was deployed and narcotics were located.

Deputies arrested the driver, Datin D.S. Palmer, 30, Topeka, and booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on multiple requested felony drug charges, including possession of methamphetamine, as well as the charges of displaying an altered license plate and driving while having no license. Palmer was also arrested on a misdemeanor warrant out of Pottawatomie County, according to Anderson.
