Junction City Commissioners have awarded a bid for $2,297,640.68 to Smoky Hill LLC . This road improvement involves access to the new Junction City High School.
The City will pay the majority of the cost but will then be reimbursed by a two-million dollar KDOT grant. City Manager Allen Dinkel noted that USD 475 will pay a small share of the cost. That will be an offset to City support on the construction of the Blue Jay Way South which runs north along the east side of the new high school.
Dinkel also noted that the roundabout will probably be in place by next spring.
