Stephanie attended Manhattan Schools and earned her bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in economics.
She loved her family and was very proud of being a grandmother. Her dog Max was a constant companion. She was also very proud of her community service.
On January 1, 2009, in Las Vegas, Nevada, she was married Brian James Duke. Brian preceded her in death on March 22, 2021.
Survivors include her two sons: Glenn Patrick Niess, Jr. and Zackery Michael Niess both of Manhattan; her mother Connie McClellan of Manhattan; her father Eddie McClellan and his wife Lois of The Villages, FL; one sister Michelle Curtis and her husband Tim of Spring Hill, FL; two grandchildren: Lyla Marie Niess and Atlas Duke; and two step-sons: Steven and Thomas Duke.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, February 13th, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel with Reverend Lewis O. Smith, Sr. officiating. Private family inurnment will be at a later date in the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at Fort Riley.
