
GEARY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect in connection with a robbery.
On Sunday evening, Junction City police responded to 821 East Chestnut Street following a report that a person had stolen an item at a convenience store - gas station, according to a media release.
Police Chief John Lamb said the suspect displayed a weapon and police were called. "We were able to apprehend an individual a short distance from there and he was actually armed with a firearm.
According to the police department Tour Log report Freddie B. Jackson III, 36, Junction City, was arrested on requested charges of Aggravated Robbery, Criminal Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Criminal Threat.
Lamb confirmed that the individual had a knife and a handgun. No one was injured.
