Vincent R. “Vince” O’Toole, age 43, of Marysville, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Stormont Vail Health in Topeka.

Vince was born to Vincent E. and Phyllis (Jurgens) O’Toole on December 16, 1980, in Marysville.

During Vince’s younger years you could find him out on the Jurgens farm on weekends, helping his grandma Jurgens deliver farm fresh eggs. Vince enjoyed being a Boy Scout throughout his youth. His fondest memory of his Boy Scout days was hiking the Oregon Trail from Westmoreland to Hollenberg with his dad.

While in high school Vince was a film tech for the Bulldogs basketball team. He graduated from Marysville High School in 2000, then attended North Central Technical School in Beloit, studying agriculture. Following tech school he worked a short time at Walmart while building his business, Vince’s Lawn Service.

Vince met Amie Folkers in 2010 and they were married on March 3, 2017. To this union they were blessed with a son, Laykin and a daughter Lenox.

Vince’s interests were John Deere, mowing, re-watching “Dumb and Dumber”, his favorite movie, and quoting his favorite lines from that movie. Watching WWE wrestling was a common thing at the O’Toole household and most of all being a daddy to his children. Vince knew no stranger and enjoyed talking and joking with friends and acquaintances. Everyone who knew Vince could agree that he had a heart of gold and would do whatever he could to help someone at the drop of a hat.

Out of all of Vince’s accomplishments, being a Dad was what he was most proud of, his world began and ended with the family he and Amie created.

Vince is survived by his wife Amie, son Laykin, daughter Lenox, parents Phyllis and Vince O’Toole of Marysville, sister Lena of Marysville, several aunts and uncles, a host of cousins, one niece, three nephews, and lots of extended family.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Raymond and Mary Frances Jurgens, his paternal grandparents, Joe and Margaret O’Toole, Aunt Mary Hook, Uncles Bill O’Toole and Lawrence O’Toole and father-in-law Randy Folkers of Fairbury, Nebraska.

A Celebration of Life is being planned at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Marysville Berean Church with Pastor Joel Barber officiating. Music is to include congregational hymns of “Jesus Loves Me” and “Blessed Assurance” and recorded songs “Heaven’s Now My Home” and “Big Green Tractor.” Honorary Bearers are: Andy Franklin, Ryan Drinkgern, Dave Ryan, Kyle O’Toole, Allen Holle, Mykal Folkers, Mykah Folkers, Austin Neunann.

A private inurnment at Marysville City Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Memorials should be made to the Vincent R. O’Toole Memorial, to be used for the benefit of his children, and may be sent in care of Christie-Anderes Funeral Home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
