Trudy L. Rieth, age 71, of Washington, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the Washington County Hospital in Washington.

Trudy was born August 6, 1952, in Washington, to Fred and Edna (Bennett) Perkins.  She graduated from Washington High School in 1970, then from Brown Mackie School of Business in Salina in 1972.  She married Arnold Rieth on February 7, 1974, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hanover. 

Trudy worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Thomas Parry for many years, then as manager for the Texaco Convenience Store, both were in Washington.  Later Trudy and Arnold moved to Blue Rapids and recently to Linn.

Trudy’s passions included her family, genealogy, crafts and the Pony Express.  She loved making jewelry, doll houses and doll clothes for her girls and her granddaughters. Traveling to the Rocky Mountains was one of her favorite places to go when time allowed.

Survivors include her husband Arnold, three children:  Travis (Debra) Rieth of Marysville, Shana (Troy) Jensen of Washington and Moriah (Dallas) Dobrovolny of Waterville, a sister Carole Meyers of Jacksonville, Florida and eight grandchildren:  Amber Jensen, Alyssa Jensen, Korbin Becker, Cota Rieth, Lane Rieth, Brooklyn Dobrovolny, Tabitha Dobrovolny and Kylee Dobrovolny and by one great-granddaughter, Guinevere O’Roke. Brother In-Law Kenneth (Barb) Rieth of Washington and Sister-In-Laws, Rosella Heier of Hoxie, Marcella Rieth of Hanover ,Virgina Parker of Linn, Betty Rieth of Washington, and Cheryl Rieth of Hanover. 

Preceding Trudy in death were her parents, Fred and Edna Perkins, Father and Mother In-Law, Frank and Clara Rieth, Brother In-Laws, Arthur Parker, Dewayne Rieth, Bernard Rieth, and Gerald Rieth. 

Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 12, 2024, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.  A Rosary will then be held at 7:00 p.m., also at the church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, in Marysville, with Father Quentin Schmitz as the Celebrant. 

Inurnment will be at St. Gregory The Great Catholic Cemetery in Marysville.

Memorials are suggested to the Linn Community Nursing Home and may be sent in care of Christie-Anderes Funeral Home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
