CW2 (RET) Rayburn Earl McBride, 83, passed away on January 12, 2023, in the Missouri Veterans Home, Warrensburg, Missouri. A graveside ceremony will take place January 27, 2023, 3:00 p.m. at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Manhattan, Kansas; full military honors will be given. Memorial donations are suggested to be given to the VFW in Abilene, Kansas.
He was born on January 5, 1940, to Jimmie T. and Thelma Lee (Williams) McBride in Deweyville, Texas. He graduated high school in DeRidder, Louisiana. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Army in Los Angeles, California from 1958-1962. Then in 1972, he went back through basic training at Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri. After his enlistment career, he was chosen to go back to school for his Chief Warrant Officer status. He accomplished his schooling in 1984, where he stayed until his retirement in 1993. After his retirement, Rayburn chose to go back to work as a Civil Servant, where he stayed until his retirement in 2004.
Rayburn and Donna Marie were married April 26, 1962, in Orange, Texas. He met Donna on Valentines Day 1962 and married her the same year. They were happily married for nearly 50 years.
He is survived by his two sons, Ralph E. McBride (Yvonne) of Milford, Kansas and Douglas R. McBride of Wamego, Kansas; his daughter, Pamela S. Henn (Frank) of Blue Springs, Missouri; eight grandchildren and a multitude of other loving great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, his four brothers, two sisters, and his parents.
