Another (under)car jacking

THEFT 

Around 5:16 on the evening of October 23, a 22-year-old male reported an unknown suspect cut off and stole the catalytic converter off his truck in the 1800 block of Fair Lane in Manhattan. The estimated loss is $600.  

AUTO THEFT 

On October 25, a 40-year-old female reported a 16-year-old male suspect had taken her 2020 Kia Forte in the 2500 block of Candle Crest Circle. The estimated loss is $16,000.  

On October 22, a 21-year-old male reported that someone stole his backpack with a Microsoft Surface laptop inside in the 700 block of Denison Avenue in Manhattan. The estimated loss is approximately $1,000.  

GUN FIRE 

On October 23 Michael Wyley, 21 of Manhattan was arrested in connection for unlawful discharge of a firearm in city limits and possession of a firearm while under the influence in the 1200 block of Laramie Street in Manhattan around 2:04 a.m. It was reported Wyley shot a gun multiple times. There were no injuries reported.  Wyley was issued a total bond of $2,000 and is no longer confined at the time of this report. 

HOT CHECK 

 On October 23 True Value at 338 N. Seth Child reported someone wrote a hot check for a Stihl concrete saw. The estimated loss is $1,245. 

STOLEN CREDIT CARD 

On October 23 a 71-year-old female reported that someone stole and made unauthorized purchases on her credit card. The total loss is $1,925. 

BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE 

On October 24 a 38-year-old female reported that someone stole headphones, an Apple iPhone 12, cash, and a Nike bag from her car in the 400 block of Brookhaven Drive in Manhattan. The estimated loss is $570. 

CAR THEFT 

On October 24 a 20-year-old male reported someone stole his silver 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the 1800 block of Anderson Avenue in Manhattan. The estimated loss is unknown at this time.  

FRAT HOUSE BURGLARY 

On October 24 Lambda Chi Alpha reported that someone entered the fraternity house and stole two framed composite photos. The total estimated loss associated with this case is approximately $8,000.  

BURGLARY 

On October 24 a 26-year-old male reported someone entered his home in the 800 block of Willard Place in Manhattan and stole three televisions. The estimated loss is $1,400.  

DUI INJURY ACCIDENT 

On October 24 Donmel Davon Glover, 30, of Manhattan was arrested after leaving the scene for aggravated battery, operating a car with a required ignition interlock device, driving under the influence and duty of driver to give information. Around 8:17 last night, RCPD officers responded to an injury crash near the intersection of Seth Child and Gary Avenue in Manhattan. At the scene officers found a Ford Focus driven by Glover and a Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Seth Trimble, 22, of Ft. Riley had collided. Trimble was transported to Via Christi for treatment of a broken leg. Glover is currently confined in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $10,000.
