Ty Ralph Gibson, 66 of Abilene passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023. He was born May 21, 1957 in Abilene, the son of Bobby Ralph and Jenice Marie (Glenn) Gibson. Ty grew up in the Abilene area, attended the local school districts and graduated from Abilene High School in 1975. On September 4, 2022 he was united in marriage to Joy Byfield at the Eisenhower Rose Garden. She survives of the home. 

He worked for the Sante Fe Railroad, Hulschers Train Derailment Co. and his last employment was a foreman for Bob Bergkamp Construction. Ty had a passion for running heavy equipment, riding his motorcycle and his three dogs.

 Ty is survived by his loving wife Joy of Abilene. Daughter, Kelsey Nicole Allen and husband Kyle of Sabetha. Granddaughter Madi Allen and bonus children Scott Michael Sarapa of Abilene and Ashli Marie Sarapa of Hays. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at New Trail Fellowship Church in Abilene. Family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home. The family wishes memorials be given to the Bluestem Veterinary clinic.
