Daniel George Davis, Sr., age 66, of Manhattan, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023.
He was born on December 22, 1956 in Salina, the son of Willard and Mavis Francis (Sandquist) Davis.
He married Cherie Ann Jensen on January 28, 1983.
Danny (Lloyd) was a jack of all trades, who enjoyed tinkering with and fixing things, even if they weren’t broken. He loved working in his yard and garden, and you could always hear him whistling various tunes. He was a devout Catholic who attended all three Catholic Churches in Manhattan.
He is survived by his wife Cherie Ann Davis of Riley; one son, Daniel George Davis, Jr. and Kasse of Riley; two daughters, DeDee Danielle Davis and Summer Rae Davis, both of Riley; one granddaughter Cherie Jean Jones of Riley; his father, Willard Davis of Abilene; five brothers, Greg Davis (Debbie) of Abilene, Bruce Davis (Deborah) of Powhatan, Virginia, Lee Davis (Yvonne) of Salina, Jeffrey Davis (Debbie) of Abilene, and Terry Davis (Jeff) of Charlotte, North Carolina; and three sisters, Cindy Neill (Mark) of Emporia, Denis Neill of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Glenna Phillips (Steve) of Salina.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mavis Davis, and his mother-in-law, Dee Jensen.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2023 at the Blue Hills Room, 2315 Tuttle Creek Blvd., Manhattan, Kansas 66502. A private family inurnment will be in the Riley Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Purple Power Animal Welfare Society. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
