On Sunday evening at approximately 8:03 p.m., officers with the Junction City Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of West 9th Street in Junction City for a subject reported to be suffering from a stab wound.
Upon arrival, officers located a single adult man, suffering from what was believed to be a stab wound. Officers began life saving measures and the victim was transported to Stormont Vail Flint Hills Hospital by Junction City Fire/EMS, where he was later pronounced deceased. The identity of the deceased individual is being withheld pending notification of the family.
The Junction City Police Department has identified and interviewed all individuals present during the incident. At this time, no arrests have been made.
There is no ongoing threat to the community related to this incident.
Upon completion of the investigation, the case will be presented to the Geary County Attorney's Office for review to determine whether any charges are appropriate.
